The city of Massena, New York, is introducing new regulations for mining, ending a six-year moratorium. The decision opens up opportunities for local operators to expand their capacity.

Key changes:
⏺A complete ban on the use of containers on the seabed for installing mining equipment.
⏺Placement is allowed only in industrial zones.
⏺New noise requirements have been introduced.

For local mining companies, these changes have come as a welcome relief. Now they will be able to more actively suspend large-scale projects. One of the investment projects involved the creation of 100 new jobs and an investment of $100 million.

🐂 UAE cancels VAT on transfers and conversions of cryptocurrencies

⏺The authorities of the United Arab Emirates are abolishing the value-added tax (VAT) on cryptocurrency transactions, including transfers and conversions.

⏺On October 2, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the UAE published updates to VAT regulations. According to consulting firm PwC, the new rules exempt investment fund management services and transactions involving virtual assets from VAT.

⏺The auditing firm clarified that in the UAE, virtual assets are considered instruments subject to digital trading or conversion and used for investment purposes. It is important to note that this definition does not cover fiat currencies or financial securities.

⏺As the publication points out, the UAE aims to become a cryptocurrency hub by lowering barriers for investors from around the world.

⭕️The sale of tokens for the crypto platform World Liberty Financial, which includes three of Donald Trump's sons on its team, was personally announced by him through his account on X. The platform is built on the Ethereum blockchain and utilizes the largest lending crypto protocol on the market, Aave.

⭕️Despite the hype, the project team managed to attract only 4% of the amount they aimed to raise from the token sale. According to the project's "roadmap," they planned to raise $300 million through the sale of WLFI tokens, with a project valuation of $1.5 billion, but the actual sales volume amounted to only $11.5 million.
