🐂 Miners Increase Hashrate Despite Decreased Revenues

The latest report from Glassnode shows a steady rise in Bitcoin's hashrate, which has increased by 66 exahashes per second (EH/s) within just one week.

As a result, the network's total power reached a new all-time high (ATH), indicating strong interest in mining and network expansion.

⛏ The rise in hashrate is mainly driven by increased capacity in anticipation of the next bull run, as well as miners transitioning to more energy-efficient and productive equipment.

📈 Notably, this growth in hashrate is happening amid significant pressure on miners due to rising network difficulty and energy costs. However, despite declining revenues, miners have pushed Bitcoin's hashrate to a record all-time high.

✅ Currently, miners are showing remarkable resilience, focusing on long-term investments by holding onto their mined Bitcoins in anticipation of future price increases.

⚡️ Power Efficiency of BTC Network Mining

Currently, the average weighted efficiency of the network is 29 W/TH.

That represented a 12% increase over the past year, and 32% over the last three years.

❓ How is the efficiency calculated?

Each ASIC miner model leaves a distinct "digital footprint" in the Bitcoin blockchain, which allows for the identification of device models. Knowing the efficiency of each device, it enables calculation of the overall efficiency of the entire BTC mining network.

Based on these trends, we forecast that by mid-2026, the efficiency level could drop to 10 W/TH as chip designs continue to improve and more efficient cooling systems are implemented in the mining equipment.

📈 The 20% increase on electricity bill, after data-center shut down.

📍 In Norway Stokmarknes people made KryptoVault company to shut down their data center because of the noise.
⏺Despite relief from the noise, the shutdown has brought an unexpected consequence — a 20% increase in electric bills. Kryptovault, which had been the largest customer of local energy provider Noranett, accounting for 20% of its revenue.

⚡With the facility now closed, Noranett is passing the financial burden on to other consumers in the region, leading to the increase in electric bills.

⬇The cryptocurrency mining process stopped on 13 September.
⏺Noranett’s network manager said that the electric bill surge will take effect as early as next month.
