The Regional Championship stage of the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) has reportedly been cancelled following the withdrawal of sponsorship support from GOIL PLC and limited time to secure a replacement sponsor.
Only the Regional Qualifiers will be held this year to determine schools that will advance to the National Championship.
If confirmed by the organizers, this will mark a major change to the usual NSMQ format, where regional champions are crowned before the national contest. GOIL has been a long-time sponsor and headline partner of the competition in recent years.

Following the verdict of the SRC JUDICIAL COMMITTEE on GOLD REFINERY HALL JCR;
1. The Electoral Commissioner has being removed from office.
2. Both President and Financial Secretary have been suspended for embezzlement of student funds
3. All current appointees have been suspended with immediate effect awaiting review
4. Scholarship Coordinator is removed from office
