⚡️ The EU Summit agreed on candidate status for Ukraine and Moldova.

The President of the European Commission Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen congratulated the new candidates on joining the EU: "Today is a good day for Europe. Congratulations to President Zelensky, President Sandu, and Prime Minister Garibashvili. Your countries are part of our European family. And today's historic decision of the Leaders confirms this.”

EU candidate status is a recognition that Ukraine has approached the EU at a basic level in economic and democratic terms.

For negotiations on EU membership to begin, Ukraine may be presented with a number of preconditions.

During the negotiation process, the candidate country brings its legislation into full compliance with EU law in almost all policy areas. The accession negotiation process is ongoing in 35 areas and can take many years.

👏 The Ukrainian Armed Forces have stopped the Russian troops' offensive in the direction of Lysychansk's southern outskirts, but the enemy is still pressing on Sievierodonetsk, where fighting continues - the General Staff.

💙💛 What does EU membership mean for Ukraine?

Ukraine received the status of a candidate for the European Union. This means that reforms and changes in legislation are recognized as successful and close to European standards.

🔹Aviation and energy "visa-free" agreements have already been signed with Ukraine. In particular, Ukraine disconnected from the energy system of Russia and Belarus and became part of the European ENSTO-E network. At the same time, it exports electricity to Europe.

🔸Ukraine, as a candidate, is waiting for the conclusion of agreements on transport, customs, and digital visa-free travel. Ukraine has also begun integration into the internal market of the EU.

🔹The candidacy will connect Ukraine with various EU programs and funds, as well as attract new investments, as businesses will now consider Ukraine as a potential EU member and a promising platform for start-ups.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said: “The further entry of our country into the EU will be beneficial to all parties. Ukraine can guarantee European food security, help accelerate the transition to green energy and reduce energy dependence on Russia, and make a significant contribution to the economic development and digitalization of Europe.”

🎪 The signing of a peace treaty with Ukraine is possible, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, providing Russia's demands are fully met.

The defensive strategies of the alliance still include allowing the three Baltic states to be captured and then released 180 days later. Kaya Kallas insists on the allocation of a NATO unit to each Baltic country.

She referred to NATO's strategy as "losing and then liberating," and claimed that roughly 80 days after the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops committed atrocities in the Ukrainian city of Bucha. "Now everyone sees that this concept of protection doesn't work," Callas highlighted.
