the situation in the gulf has become a bit more certain, invest 97L may become Edouard if sustained winds reach 40mph but either way it’s looking like a landfall tomorrow evening/night near the Texas/Louisiana border. it’s a smaller system and it’s not expected to rapidly intensify, models have it in the 35-50mph range. heavy rain, storm surge and coastal flooding are possible even without an official tropical storm designation

Edouard has really gotten it’s act together overnight into this morning and is now just a few hours away from landfall near the TX/LA border as a stronger tropical storm/potential low end category 1 (50-55 mph now with a window to intensify before landfall)
