tvOS Launcher for Fire TV is here - Beta 0.1

First build for Android-based Fire TV devices.

• Added support for Fire TV Sticks, Cubes, and televisions.
• Added TV remote navigation and Fire TV launcher entry.
• Packaged separately from the original launcher.
• Leaves Fire TV’s stock Home app enabled.

Installation:
1. On Fire TV, enable ADB debugging in Developer Options.
2. Connect your computer and Fire TV to the same network.
3. In a terminal, run these commands, replacing the IP with your Fire TV’s IP address:

adb connect <FIRE-TV-IP>:5555
adb install -r tvOS-Launcher-FireTV-Beta-0.1.apk

4. Open tvOS Launcher for Fire TV from the Fire TV Apps screen.

0.8 beta build is almost ready.
- Fixed continue watching cards on some TV's
-Added seperate section for continue watching background.
- Tested on mi TV 4A Pro 1GB Ram (Android 9)
- Release key build

- Fixed app discovery for TV and standard Android launcher apps.
- Added fallbacks for Fire OS display and sound settings.
- Improved return-to-launcher behavior from Amazon Home.
- Added runtime Wi-Fi location permission handling and a connected-state label fallback.
- Fixed Control Center focus navigation from the profile avatar.
- Changed Bluetooth popup focus to avoid accidental disconnection.
- Fixed Button Remap prompt text and Back navigation.
- Closed icon-pack XML parser resources.
- Improved the microphone shortcut’s Alexa launch fallback.
- Renamed the Cast shortcut to Display & Sounds for its Fire TV settings destination.

• Fixed navigation when the Favourites bar is empty so users can still move through the app grid.
• Organized launcher settings into submenus and kept Overall Blur on the parent Appearance page.
• Fixed Continue Watching background selection and previews for artwork, app background, solid colour, gradients, and pictures.
• Improved Show Artwork preview loading when Continue Watching Cards are off.
• Added clearer prompts when artwork access is missing or there is nothing available to resume.

Installation:

- First method:
•Open Play Store
•Open Play Protect
•Disable scanning and related settings.
•Install from any file manager

-Second method:
•By adb command

Tester feedback:

Please report bugs with your TV model, Android/Google TV version, steps to reproduce, and what you expected versus what happened. Attach an Android logcat captured immediately after reproducing the issue, if possible.

To capture logs with ADB, reproduce the bug, then run:

adb logcat -d -v time > tvOS-Launcher-bug-log.txt

tvOS Launcher Installation Guide

Method 1: Play Protect

1. Open Play Store → Profile → Play Protect → Settings.
2. Temporarily disable scanning if needed.
3. Install the APK via File Manager.
4. Re-enable scanning afterward.

Method 2: ADB

1. Enable ADB Debugging on your TV.
2. Run:

adb install -r tvOS_Launcher_2.0.1.apk

Note: Install only trusted APKs. Beta versions may contain bugs.
