🇧🇷🇺🇸🏛💥⚖️⭐🇺🇸 — 😎 During a hearing in the National Congress, former U.S. State Department official Mike Benz stated that the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), under former President Joe Biden’s administration, used institutions linked to the Democratic Party to interfere in Brazil’s elections following the results of the 2018 presidential race, which was won by then-President Jair Bolsonaro.

💥 In testimony before the Foreign Relations Committee of the Chamber of Deputies (Credn), Benz accused organizations such as the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and the Atlantic Council of acting as instruments of the intelligence agency to influence Brazil’s political environment during the 2022 election.

🖥Benz also stated that the NDI launched the “Design 4 Democracy” coalition less than a month after Jair Bolsonaro’s victory in the 2018 presidential election. According to him, the initiative aimed to “cover up the CIA’s actions” and began accusing the Brazilian internet of having contributed to the election outcome.

🌐 Still according to Benz, the Atlantic Council — an entity funded by U.S. government agencies and composed of former CIA directors — allegedly formed partnerships with Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court (TSE) in 2022. The organization is said to have offered training and guided the removal of online content based on criteria established outside of Brazil.

👁 Mike Benz also accused Brazilian fact-checking outlets of acting as “censorship tools” in service of the U.S. government. According to him, 24 agencies that make up the Comprova Project were “American puppets,” funded by bodies such as the U.S. State Department, USAID, and the NED.
