This is actually worse than I originally thought. The pastor here, like many, many others, has his salary paid by people that support him as a duty from God. They also preach a diluted, conforming type of Christianity that isn’t too offensive. These types actually can’t conceive of a world where Christians would be fired for expressing Christianity.

Modern Christianity has chosen to preach a diluted gospel to people that are entirely ignorant that they need it.

You know that someone is ready to hear forgiveness and mercy when they’re on their knees begging for it.

Yes, you should forgive your enemies. But for some reason, I don’t think “forgive” has one definition.

I have this distinct feeling that “forgive” to these types means “take less action against your enemies and give concessions” as opposed to “I’m going to God to not be sinfully bitter”

This corruption of forgiveness has been a trend for at least two hundred years, by the way.

Go read Kierkegaard’s articles from The Fatherland. Every article lambasts priests that are more concerned with Christianity as a culture, preaching soft, substanceless peace.

For the people that love to worship secular society and so conform to it, they should know that because what we say is true, we haven’t defamed anyone.
