Turnip’s Digest
I'll be live at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning CST to discuss history, culture, and religion with Panama Hat https://youtu.be/Tn_GAa6QQTI
We had a ton of good discussion here. I know Radical Liberation quite enjoyed the discussion on Christian Hymnody. There is much more in here, so if that doesn’t appeal to you, I still suggest giving it a watch. I think it went very well

If you enjoyed my discussion with Panama Hat, go check out his stream with good friend NotSoObvious, where they will be having a cozy discussion about England

[#2] A History of Everyday Things in England 1733-1851 (1952) Discussion and Readthrough
A History of Everyday Things in England is a book series exploring English life and how work, community, religion and leisure have changed over time. Join me as I read through this snapshot into the 18th and 19th century, with the blessed assistance of my…
I dug through 67 pages worth of events of the LCMS’s National Youth Gathering (supposedly one of the most conservative Protestant churches in the United States), and this is some of what I’ve found:

Even if you aren’t in the LCMS, this is either coming for you or already has. This is important to study, at the least to see how the regime pastors and regime laymen are defending it. Learn from this defeat here so that you might be able to save your own congregation

Stephen and I just finished here. If you have not heard or read about this, go listen. Listen and remember. It’s not for the faint of heart, and in all honesty, it’s satanic and gruesome. But we are called to remember

I have Christopher Sandbatch on to discuss "The Lost Cause of the Confederacy," its historiography, how it has been taught over time, and how true the idea is.

The Book of James is probably the most important book for this sphere to study at this point
For everyone freaking out about how softly accepting this is of leftism, do none of you remember Jordan B Peterson’s whole schtick of ‘I’m primarily against compelled speech’ and almost exclusively using that to argue his way through academia and courts? Every time push comes to shove, these guys always default back to their soft, acceptable counters that don’t actually threaten anything and help to solidify the new leftist status quo

I’m shocked that they’re pulling the same old propaganda tricks: do all the subversive things in the middle of the big event, hide it in a 67 page document, then when the event is done, brush the subversion under the rug and show pictures of the giant audience to prove that it was a “success”.

I very much appreciate the sentiment being expressed here and mostly agree with it, save for one caveat. The majority of dystopias usually start with weak or perverted men sitting idly by or tacitly supporting whatever evil that is being written about. Don’t fall into that group
