I’ve had the misfortune of being dragged along to watch a new movie from this year meant for younger audiences, and in the first thirty minutes it’s prominently featured:

Miscegenation
Black music
Youth rebelling against parents and proper governance
Whites portrayed as backwards and unfit and incompetent
Blacks portrayed as strong and “cool”
Love of the alien over the local

It’s ubiquitous.

We’re at the point where Soviet cinema had better propaganda, jokes, plot, and reality

Modern Christian evangelism is based on the liberal presupposition of a marketplace of ideas, where good ideas supplant bad ideas regardless of how much power is behind them. Obviously throughout most of church history, people had no choice as to what denomination or sect they followed.

I was raised on stories from both of these. They were in storage for years, and I finally found them.

Ecclesiastes seems to be one giant refutation of Perennialism

“I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge. And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.”

“I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.”

“The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all. Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity. For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.”

“So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.”

All the perennial wisdoms and practices on their own are vanity and merely last till death, useless on their own.

The earliest Anti-Masonic document was a leaflet printed in 1698 by a Presbyterian minister named Winter. It reads:

TO ALL GODLY PEOPLE, In the Citie of London.

Having thought it needful to warn you of the Mischiefs and Evils practiced in the Sight of God by those called Freed Masons, I say take Care lest their Ceremonies and secret Swearings take hold of you; and be wary that none cause you to err from Godliness. For this devilish Sect of Men are Meeters in secret which swear against all without ther Following. They are the Anti Christ which was to come leading Men from Fear of God. For how should Men meet in secret Places and with secret Signs taking Care that none observed them to do the Work of GOD; are not these the Ways of Evil-doers?

Knowing how that God observeth privilly them that sit in Darkness they shall be smitten and the Secrets of their Hearts layed bare. Mingle not among this corrupt People lest you be found so at the World's Conflagration.

"Even the southern slaves fight with their masters for their way of life in preference to dying of hunger in northern cities as prey of the invader."

The “conservative” wing of the Lutherans has weighed in. They’re Conservative, see; they liked some parts of the Revolution, but other parts go a bit too far! Can’t we just keep the happy, popular parts and discard the rest?
👍8
And of course, when faced with the reality that they are, in fact, attacking from the left, it’s totally not true! This is actually right wing, traditional antiracism!
