Price usually tend to take liquidity from equal highs/lows before forming a specific move.
A bearish move for example requires enough buy positions to be available in the market in order for the down move to occur.
The buy positions can be in 2 different forms:
1- Buy stops resting above the highs.
2- Stop losses of sell orders.
So in other words, sellers will be stopped out as well as buyers who are buying the high before a bearish move occurs.

Candle Engulfs:
These occur when price moves into an area for a candle.
The move is then completely reversed, showing signs for a stronger move in the engulfing candles direction.
This works best when the engulfing candle takes out the prev candles high or low within its wick.
Honestly this is my favourite candlestick pattern

Trading Tip:
Once I have found a directional bias in the market, I then give myself 2 attempts at the trade AT TWO DIFFERENT PRICE POINTS.
1). Where it looks the best
2). Where the best risk to reward opportunity is.
This gives me twice the amount of opportunity. π
Don't overthink, keep it simple, create a set of rules to follow and manage your risk. π
These are the principles of consistently making money as a Trader! π₯
