Things I wish I knew when I started Trading: 📊

• Backtesting is good, but forward testing is what will make you profitable.

In order to forward test, trade one strategy ONLY for atleast 6 months before you review.

• Risk management is EVERYTHING.

It’s what keeps you in the game, instead of risking it all on one trade, break up the risk in “tranches” that gives you more time in the market.

• Always pay the trader.

Stop trying to compound your account endlessly and then losing it. Withdraw constantly at the end of the week & month.

• One trade at a time.

It’s easy to get carried away in the market thinking about what colour car you’re going to buy which only leads to risking more. Instead, focus on one trade at a time!

Being a profitable trader doesn’t mean you should stop learning, there’s always a room for improvement to have a better edge in the market.
