Following a long-lasted break we are beyond excited to officially announce the start of the new TSUL Jessup 2022 season!

⚖️ The compromis that our team will be working on throughout next several months primarily focuses on the following topics:

- Human rights on the Internet;
- Data theft;
- The secession of part of a nation's territory;
- Foreign election interference.

🥁 The Jessup team of the Tashkent State University of Law 2022 is now formed and ready to defend the honor of our university!

❓ What is Public International law?

🌏 Public international law is a separate system of law that regulates international relations between states, international organizations and sometimes individuals. It sets out legal obligations, responsibilities and rights of one state against another, as well as those between states and non-state actors.

🌆 It is different from domestic law (national law). Most of legal branches such as criminal law, civil law, administrative law, etc. are usually the part of domestic law.

🗺 BUT International law is a separate system. It is indeed inter-national.

📎 Distinguish it from private international law. Private international law regulates private law relations with a foreign element, here usually individuals and private companies are involved. It is also called conflict of laws, because it regulates application of national and foreign law.

❓ What are the sources of public international law?

To identify the rules that apply to regulate international legal relations; rules that resolve the disputes between the states, states and other entities, we refer to the sources of public international law.

Widely recognized as an authoritative enumeration of sources of public international law, Article 38 of ICJ Statute states:

The Court [ICJ] shall apply:

📜 International conventions;

⏳ International custom;

🔗 General principles of law ;

as subsidiary sources:

⚖️ judicial decisions

📖 teachings of the most highly qualified publicists of the various nations
