🪙 AI helped recover access to 5 BTC after 11 years

An X user cprkrn shared how he regained access to an old Bitcoin wallet with the help of Anthropic’s Claude AI assistant.

Back in 2015, he bought 5 BTC at around $240 per coin before eventually losing the wallet password. For weeks, the owner tried to recover access using password recovery tools and rented GPUs, testing trillions of possible combinations.

The attempts failed. As a last resort, he uploaded old files from his college laptop into Claude. The AI assistant helped identify a wallet backup encrypted with an older password that the user still had saved.

➡️ Within hours, the story spread across the crypto community and became one of the most discussed examples of AI being used to recover access to forgotten crypto wallets.

At current prices, the recovered 5 BTC are worth nearly $400,000

💶 European banks ramp up efforts to launch a euro stablecoin

The Qivalis project has grown to 37 banks. New participants include ABN Amro, Rabobank, Intesa Sanpaolo, and other major European institutions. By number of members, this is now the largest banking consortium in Europe focused on blockchain infrastructure.

The main goal is the integration of a euro stablecoin into existing banking infrastructure. Consortium members see it as a tool for cross-border payments and faster settlement between financial institutions.

The stablecoin market remains dominated by dollar-pegged assets. The ECB warns that this strengthens the US dollar’s role in global payments and reinforces its position in international financial flows. Europe is trying to reduce this dependence and develop its own alternatives.

Qivalis has already applied for a license from the Dutch central bank.

💵 USDT vs USDD: what is the difference and which one to use for payments

Both are dollar-pegged stablecoins but they work differently.

USDT is issued by Tether and backed by reserves. It remains the most widely used stablecoin for payments, trading, and business settlements.

USDD is developed within the Tron ecosystem and relies on an algorithmic model with crypto collateral. It is more commonly used in DeFi.

Key differences:

➡️ USDT: centralised, high liquidity, minimal price fluctuations
➡️ USDD: decentralised, algorithmic stability, more sensitive to market conditions

For businesses, both coins offer fast cross-border settlements, low transaction fees, and minimal volatility compared to traditional crypto. CryptoCloud supports both USDT and USDD, along with other popular cryptocurrencies. Fees start from 0.4%.

🏦 Banks and crypto: a new model of financial interaction

A few years ago, banks and crypto were seen as opposites. Today, the boundaries are blurring: clients want to manage crypto within familiar services, regulation is getting clearer, and fintech companies are pushing banks to move faster.

Banks are already storing digital assets, adding in-app exchange, and opening accounts for crypto businesses. Among the active players: Revolut, Wirex, Ally Bank, Mercury, and JP Morgan Chase.

The choice between banks and crypto depends on your goals. Banks offer predictable returns and insurance protection, crypto offers higher potential upside and full control over assets.

🇺🇸 Trump claims he saved the crypto industry

He declared America the crypto capital of the world and promised to build a structure for digital asset markets that no opponent can dismantle.

The statement came as doubts grow over the CLARITY Act, a bill that would establish the first comprehensive crypto market rules in the US.
