Turkey's ruling AK Party proposed on Monday adopting ​a tax on cryptocurrency income and a transaction ‌levy on crypto asset service providers, in a draft law submitted to parliament.

💬 "Platforms must apply a 10% withholding tax on income ​and gains from crypto‑asset transactions on a quarterly ​basis," the text of the draft said.

Profits from ⁠crypto asset transactions conducted outside authorized platforms would ​be taxed through declaration in annual statements.

🏦 Russian Central Bank Proposes Allowing Banks and Brokers to Obtain Crypto Licenses

The Bank of Russia has proposed allowing banks and brokerage firms to obtain licenses to operate crypto exchanges, a move that would place traditional financial institutions at the center of the country’s future regulated digital asset market.

📌 The proposal was outlined by Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina at an annual meeting with credit organisations. According to the regulator, existing financial institutions already have compliance infrastructure that could be used to supervise crypto transactions.

🇹🇭 Thailand Freezes 10,000 Suspected Mule Accounts After Stricter Screening

Cryptocurrency platforms in Thailand have frozen more than 10,000 accounts suspected of being used for laundering illicit funds as authorities intensify efforts to shut down so-called mule accounts in the digital asset market.

📌 The freezes followed the rollout of stricter screening measures designed to slow suspicious transfers and trigger additional Know Your Customer checks for higher-risk transactions. According to local reporting from the Bangkok Post, the tighter controls helped exchanges identify accounts linked to potential money-laundering activity.
