There seem to be a lot of people who need to understand some things about the actual war on drugs happening right now, as opposed to the fake Bush war on drugs that never really happened. I'm going to be brief cuz I'm a little angry this even needs to be said.

Bush War on Drugs: This was total BS and the powers created to fight international drug trafficking were instead only used to eliminate the competition, so the drug cartels working WITH the CIA got all the business.

Trump is acting as Commander in Chief and has lawfully designated the drug cartels as international terrorist orgs. Few recent Presidents have used the full power of the office, so a great many people don't actually understand the limits of what he can actually do (when not held back by fears of unpopularity).

Narco Terrorists (aka cartel members) are not "civilians". They are irregular paramilitary forces, often armed on the same level as the actual national militaries of many South American nations. In many cases they have even captured territory and local governments have taken a hands-off policy... effectively making them micro-sovereign entities in all but name. These groups regularly violate the international laws of war, and operate outside of any kind of diplomatic channels... hence the designation as irregular combatants.

Habeas corpus and due process do not apply to any such forces, especially if counter-attacked during the act of committing actions deemed harmful to U.S. interests or safety. And quite frankly the President is under NO obligation to show you evidence gathered by military intelligence in the course of targeting such units.

Don't want to get blown up? Don't be a fucking cartel member smuggling drugs into America on your speedboat or submarine.

👉Bigger Picture: After decades of the CIA running the drug trade behind the scenes (partnering w/ cartels), Trump is sending a clear message that such days are over. Such an aggressive posture will cause shockwaves through the cartels, and starve the U.S. black market drug supplies.

So many on Twitter/X bitching that the algorithm changes have taken their traffic away and reduced their payouts.
