We’ve had driver’s licenses that people use as IDs for many years.

Why are people upset they are being updated to make forgery harder?

When I moved to Texas, the drivers license they gave me was “Real ID”.

When I moved to Idaho, the drivers license they gave me was “Real ID”.

In both cases my actual identity was verified via passport and birth certificate. Call me naive, but I like that makes it harder for an illegal to get an equivalent ID.

If they plan for Real ID to be a stepping stone towards Voter ID, then I wish they would clearly say so.

I’m not personally concerned about Real ID, but if illegals can still get one… then this doesn’t go far enough to be truly useful to me.

When I visited India recently, the level of poverty was truly astounding. Coming from the US, and knowing what comfort I’d be returning to… was emotionally painful for someone with a very high level of empathy.

The average household is shared by several people, and it is very common for them to sleep in shifts… sharing a bed. 4-6 incomes to afford low end housing. All sharing 2 beds.

You know what changes that eventually? A free America, AND radical advances in energy production. My constant prayer, is that we might have the opportunity and power, to bring freedom (via free exchange of information & education, not CIA regime change ops) and a better quality of life, to all of Gods children… and tear down the forces that keep them ignorant and poor.

Ok I have now spent several hours really digging on the Real ID thing, and too many people (on both sides) are making false claims about it.

Stop calling them stupid.
A lot of people are understandably short on trust of any new program this government creates, and largely because every scrap of power previously given to this government, has been abused. I can't really fault people if their default position has become "nah, make do with the powers you have, I'm not giving you any new powers. Maybe get back to me when we are 2 or 3 years into the DC cleanup, and I can see it's really happening and I'll reconsider." My father became one of these people AFTER a career in military intelligence, and earning 5 Presidential medals for leading projects that created some of our most sensitive information gathering systems. To his dismay, he lived to see ALL of them misused in ways it was promised they would not be misused. (To his joy, he lived to see this movement begin to rise, and the People putting a stop to it by the time he passed in Feb 2020.)

My fellow citizens are not stupid if they have learned from very good reasons, to take a default position of not wanting to give government any new powers. Calling them stupid isn't how you reassure them that "this time" everything will go as planned.

If you read this far, you probably think I am opposed to Real ID, but I am NOT. For myself... I have a Real ID in my pocket and consider it to be nothing more than an updated drivers license.

👉For Those Claiming It Will Help with Illegal Voting
Ok, I really wanted this to be true, but I can't find any evidence this is the case. Current issues:

Fact: Non-citizens can get a Real ID. In theory they must be here legally (green card, etc), and present proof of identity, but we already know that some states are NOT following the law. In our current legal climate, you can't stop a Democrat DMV official in New York, from giving a drivers license to an illegal, AND pushing the little button to upgrade it to a Real ID, claiming they saw proof of identity. Later if caught they will say "oops, my bad, that was an accident"

Fact: Nothing on the ID itself allows a person looking at it to determine if the holder is a non-citizen.

Fact: Democrats in uncontrollable states are letting illegals REGISTER to vote. They are handing out forms, and letting people self-certify that they are eligible, then wink wink processing the form.

Fact: Come election day, if a non-citizen steps up to vote with their Real ID license, and the poll worker finds their name on the voting register... nobody at that moment has any way to tell the person should not be voting.

👉Conclusion
Fact: As long as present vulnerabilities exist in our voter registration process, and each state can play individual games with who they give a Real ID... Real ID as it is now, does nothing to make our elections more secure.

Are more changes coming that will plug the vulnerabilities and turn it into a system that is truly reliable? ONLY somebody in the Trump admin can say. NOBODY else spouting off bullshit knows.

Apparently BioClandestine believes the Democrats who run the DMV in blue states follow all the rules.

Fact: You are only supposed be able to get a Real ID, if you are here with legal status.

Fact: Several states are giving licenses to illegals. We do not know if that includes hitting the little button to upgrade the license to include the Real ID mark.

Fact: It doesn't matter anyway, because those same states are also wink wink letting the illegals REGISTER TO VOTE and a regular ID or a Real ID makes no difference at all one way or another in that situation.

Theory: 5 minutes after Real ID is required, bleeding heart liberals who are already helping illegals get drivers licenses, will start claiming "yeah, I saw ID and verified their ID", then treating them the same as the other non-citizens (with a green card) also in line to get their Real IDs. Do you seriously think illegals aren't going to get help faking green cards for the purpose of getting through that line in a state that's already cheating in elections?

Start thinking like a criminal to predict what they will do next, or shut the fuck up.

Give me a system that isn't designed to be as easy to exploit as a wall made out of wet tissue paper.

A system that relies on the good faith of liberals running a DMV in Los Angeles... isn't a system at all.

Fix the voter registration issue, instead of trying to distract me with bullshit that won't make any difference at all.

Legally it will be necessary to use Federal power to lean in on "enemy states" from the outside and force them to comply with laws on how their FEDERAL elections are run. States rights make it very hard for other states, or the federal gov to lean in on how they run state elections. All kinds of things happen, if they are truly forced to run clean federal elections (House, Senate, etc). And those reforms will trickle down in a big way, gradually exposing and squeezing out the corruption.

In business we PRESUME fraud will occur in any and every system, and DESIGN rules and procedures to make it possible to determine if fraud did in fact happen. Random sampling, full inspection of selected records, etc.

Some people talk about our election systems like they are magically complicated and it will never be possible to have reliable systems. B.S. The people saying that should be automatically fired and replaced with people who have actual experience preventing and catching fraud.

Fact: Me & Seth Keshel (or others with similar skillset), could run a team that designs election systems that are invulnerable to fraud. The problem IS solvable, so the People should be unrelenting in their demands for every single county in the U.S. to DROP their contracts with legacy system providers, and hire people who actually know how to design real AUDITABLE SYSTEMS.

Working this problem from the bottom-up does give some counties a good transparent system, but it does nothing to force bad counties to adopt the solution. We need real prosecutions for election fraud, and some kind of top-down process that include Federal pressure.

Example 1: Pass a law that says only systems that meet Generally Accepted Audit Standards can be used in a federal election.
Example 2: Find a way to lawfully declare certain existing providers to be a threat to national security (assuming appropriate evidence of misconduct and foreign interference or risk can be found)... THEN every county can use that as a legal basis to terminate existing contracts.

Tip of the iceberg, but that's my rant of the day. If we have the will this is solvable.
