This stuff is not my forte, nor my interest. However that is precisely why I'm glad someone else with a head on their shoulders is covering this. For woo woo stuff and some good takes on paganism check out tribe of the Fox. -TAO

I have recently talked about writing a book on Italian paganism and the Strega. As I have begun trying to put this together, I realized that I have so much information and so much more to learn that for the time being a blog seems to be the better way to go. I want to share a link to my blog here. I will try to do at least one or two posts a week. :) I hope you will check it out and will find my writing interesting and informative! 🇮🇹❤️🤍💚

Sabine Baring Gould, in his work considered somewhat definitive on the subject title "The Book of Werewolves" , offers us this....

That being in Lithuania , around the period understood to be the Yuletide , a multitude of men and women would strip off their mortal garments and take up the skin of the wolf. There is conjecture as to whether this meant that the participants stripped naked and donned wolf skins or actually took on the form of the beast....it continues....to say

Having donned their skins the Wolfen hordes would race and howl through the forests and across the fields, drawing dark spirits to their hunt, all the while slaughtering any and all wild animals and livestock they may come across in an unparalleled and savage orgy of ecstacy and blood letting , ceasing only upon the coming of the dawn and the sating of their lusts.

It is important to note , despite the unbridled violence, either by intent or inability, it has been recorded that this wild pack visited no harm upon human beings they came across amidst their savage foray . Christian tradition, would of course, imply that this was due to their icons and prays, keeping the claws of the beast from ravaging the image of God ( humans) but this is unclear.

What is clear, is that the cult of the werewolf has left a deep and indellible mark upon the history, traditions, and psyche of the people of Courland, Livonia and Lithuania, a mark that caused historian Olaus Magnus, writing contemporarily in the 16th century to comment extensively on the " Preoccupation and Pandemic of the Werewolf amongst the Lithuanian people"

Happy Yuletide. Dont forget your Wolfskin ;)

Many thanks to the Tribe of the Fox for sharing my blog! 💚🌿
It is interesting and nice to see how Myo B does the same thing the Tribe of the Fox is doing. Trying to rediscover our native spirituality. The Tribe of the Fox works with Northwest-European spirituality and Myo B with Italian paganism. Check out her blog, folks.
Because of the wolfpicture above, I got inspiration for a super agressive poem. It is in Dutch:

Het gegrom wordt sterker,
huilend in de nacht.
Klauwen, kracht agressie,
in die glanzende vacht.
Ogen gloeiend als vuur,
geslagen is het laatste uur.
Voor degenen die snoeren de monden,
het vuil druipt uit hun diepe wonden.
Als een grote overmacht,
verdwijnt tot in de diepe nacht.

Licht en liefde, Dirkje
Basically this poem is about wolflike agression. The ones who wants to silence us will be ripped to pieces and evil retreats😎.
O.k. then, on request, I tried to translate this properly :

The growl grows stronger,
crying in the night.
Claws, strenght, aggression,
in that shiny skin.
Eyes glowing like fire,
the last hour has struck.
For those who silence others,
the dirt drips from their wounds.
Like a great tyrant,
disappears into the night.

Love and light, Dirkje
Nice art👍! I would like to live in a forest like in those paintings
