The Jotunbok, the gods, elves and dwarves of the ancient Norse/Germanic/Anglo-Saxon peoples have been rediscovered in growing numbers in the past years. But what about the famous Giants and the Gods who number among them, Loki, Hela, Fenris, the World Serpent, and others, until now. This Jotunbok is a collection of the wisdom, ways and tales of the Giants and their Gods. Today I got this wonderful present from a dear friend, so I hope to learn and practise more about the wonderful world of European Shamanism. I am grateful

Re-sharing old post. When I first saw middle earth in films LOTR & HOBBIT, I fell in love with that world. It’s considered fantasy of course, but I’ve always felt there was truth in it. I wanted to search for any evidence that similar cities may have existed in the past on in the real world, here on earth. As I was looking for through the images of the remaining ancient ruins on our planet, I came across the rock-cut ruins, and it somewhat reminded me of the gorgeous cities from Middle Earth... Here I’ve included some images of actual real life ruins side by side with the images of fantasy world of middle earth... Now remember that the images of real ruins of earth are of worn-out, decayed, crumbling structures that are very old, and have been severely eroded by time. Just try to imagine what these ancient sites must have looked like when they were whole and in use...

This is interesting. Personally, I have been through just about every so called diet (not as in slimming; I dont need that as my mums family were "wiry"!). I have been vegetarian, vegan, a short spell of raw vegan and now lacto based omnivore. I dont consume many vegetables and little fruit unless it is English in season berries. Because of a certain condition i'm unable to consume much meat but can get down chicken liver, some sausage and corned beef. Having studied for a number of years the different types of ancestral foodstuffs that people all over the world consume I conclude that vegetables and fruit are not a high priority in Northern Europe mainly because they were not abundantly avaiable. For about 3 years now my main intake is raw dairy in the form of raw milk, raw cream and non raw cheese (access to raw cheese is available but a bit beyond my pocket at the moment). Fortunately we have 2 raw dairies within 10 miles of where I live and the milk and cream is from pasture fed cows. It is interesting that in England prior to the Victorian experimentation with vegetables to make them palatable there was no such thing as a vegetable. Everything was considered to be a herb, whether it be an actual herb such as Rosemary or a carrot or a turnip etc. Herbs were considered to be for medicinal purposes when one was ailing in one way or another. For this, I think, is their main purpose as far as humans are concerned; natures pharmacy. So the quote from Caesar makes absolute sense in a geographical context as Southern European countries would have much easier access to year round non animal foods than the North. Also, it should be noted that the South had a much longer agricultural inheritance from the Neolithic peoples who were the Early Neolithic Farmers who apparently made their way into Europe from Anatolia and to a lesser extent, the Levant. So the Western Hunter Gatherer populations in the south would have been assimilated much earlier into an agricultural way of life than the north. Also, one has to consider that the IE influx into Europe would have been pastoral based and hence the main foodstuff for such folks would inevitably be "on the hoof"; primarily dairy based I would imagine. I find that raw milk is probably the most valuable and nutrient dense food available, containing as it does all the necessary trace elements and vitamins necessary for robust health, including amounts of B12.
