We are descended of gods.

Wild Edible: Hawthorn.
There is no excuse for not knowing the ubiquitous Hawthorn. It can be found in country hedgerows to urban park's and everywhere in between.
The leaves, berries and flowers are all edible. The leaves, which have a nutty flavour, and the flesh of the berries were often nibbled by rural schoolchildren on the way to school and were called "bread and cheese", it's still a lovely wayside nibble for the rambler (but don't eat the stone). The flowers can be used to make cordials, as you would with elderflowers.
Hawthorn berries are naturally high in pectin and are great for making jams, chutneys and pemican.

This time of year is about the time of shadows and borders, of honoring our ancestors. Crows and ravens are often depicted during Halloween (Celtic name is Samhain). A crow or raven has the ability to take the form of other creatures. She can move in the land of the living and in the underworld. A corvid in the form of your spirit animal helps you travel between different worlds. Wodan is also accompanied by 2 ravens, Hugin and Munin, which means "memory" and "thoughts". These mental constructs can travel to different worlds to gather information. In short, if you see a corvid in real life or during your trance journeys, you may see more of its abilities and beauty than was apparent at first sight.

Very impressive Dutch Metal song about the goddess Nehallenia. The tribe of the Fox has made several video's about this beloved ancient deity. So check out this song and the translated lyrics.
Nehalennia, Heidevolk
The day is over
The fog is lifting
The harbor disappears from sight
We are travelling to places
Heretofore unseen
The journey and our fate unknown
Searching for battle
Women and grog
Searching for eternal glory
Honor to the women
of life and death
Protect us on the open sea
FORWARD!
Over the seas
FORWARD!
Nehalennia
The sails are billowing
In a sou'westerly wind
The horizon is our goal
No tide is too strong
Or waves too high
Defying the biggest storm
A sacrifice made
On the Zeeland shore
At the altar of the goddess
Bringer of wealth
Trade and light
Show us your favor
Far from land
Over the sea
In the red evening light
The northern star
Shows the way
Towards our fate

HEIDEVOLK - Nehalennia (Official)
Heidevolk create with "Uit oude grond" a musical and lyrical monument for the legends and sagas of their homeland Gelderland. The sextet stays tenaciously true by enveloping Gelderland's history in a compactly woven garb of folk and metal. Authentic traditionalβ¦
Nehalennia goddess of the North Sea.
On votif stones you appeared,
for guidance of our sailers.
Ancient but not forgotten,
by our people of the swamps.
Guided by the underworld hound
of our merciless North Sea.
Some were taken,
some were given,
in our Lowlands we are free.
Overflowing horn of fertility,
in your arms we'll give,
a sacrifice to thee.

Always good to know if you study old pagan scripts π What is Euhemerism ?
That is proclaiming that pagan deities are just human beings, who are worshiped as deities because of their merits. Caesarius applied this to permanently break the spell of paganism during Christianization.
So, keep in mind that Saxo Grammaticus (1160-1220) and Snorri Sturluson (1179-1241) used euhemerism as a disclaimer in their introductions, to avoid being accused by church authorities of spreading pagan propaganda.

The Loup-garou is the French-Canadian werewolf. Not limited to wolves, the loup-garou can take other forms, such as dogs, pigs, cats, or owls.
They transform nightly for 101 days, transferring the curse to others once they are bitten.
