This indicator is used to evaluate the strength of gold compared to forex currencies and provides a overview of the risk-taking and risk-aversion status of traders. For example, an upward trend in gold to dollar(XAUUSD) may be due to the weakness of the dollar, and in gold to euro(XAUEUR) we will see a neutral trend, In this situation, if the strength of the dollar changes, the trend of gold to dollar will change quickly and gold BUY positions will be at loss.
If liquidity leaves all currencies and enters gold, or vice versa, the trend that forms in gold will be very strong and trades will have a greater chance of success. By using this indicator, you will be fully aware of the flow of liquidity and traders positions in gold relative to each currency and you will increase the win rate of your trades.

What is Open Interest (OI)?
Here at Trader Monkeys, we pull the total open interest (OI) for each coin from major exchanges like Binance, Bybit, HyperLiquid, and others, and we keep a close eye on how it's moving.
What is Open Interest (OI)?
In the futures market, you're not actually buying or selling the coin itself—you're just betting on whether its price will go up or down. For example, if you put $1,000 on price going up (that's a 'Buy' or 'Long'), there needs to be someone else betting on it going down (a 'Sell' or 'Short') for the two bets to match and open a futures contract. If the price then rises, your profit comes straight from the pocket of that trader who bet on the drop—and vice versa.
Because futures give you leverage and let you bet on both directions, trading volumes here are way bigger than in the spot market. That's exactly why smart money piles into futures contracts before any big price move—to squeeze the maximum profit out of the upcoming trend.
