⭐️Global Day of Parents⭐️

🔸1 June is a Global Day of Parents, it's a great opportunity to appreciate and thank all parents throughout the world for their "selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifice towards nurturing this relationship".

📜History

🔸On the 17 of September 2012 the General Assembly proclaimed 1 June the Global Day of Parents (Resolution 66/292) and since then it is celebrated annually.

🔸In the 1980s the United Nations began paying more attention to the family related issues. Apart from other initiatives, in 1989 the General Assembly proclaimed 1994 the International Year of the Family (resolution 44/82). The theme of the Year was “Family: resources and responsibilities in a changing world” and Its motto: “Building the Smallest Democracy at the Heart of Society”.

🌱GENERATION RESTORATION🌱

Today we talk about one more great UN initiative - #GENERATIONRESTORATION🍃

#GENERATIONRESTORATION is a huge community of active people who do care about our planet and take actions to save it, making peace with nature🌳

🤔But what can you start with?
There is a viriety of options👇:

🔸Volunteering for an existing restoration effort
🔸Cleaning up a lake, beach, park or other natural area
🔸Greening your home, business, school, or a public space with indigenous trees or plants
🔸Announcing an ambitious restoration project or policy initiative, whether at local, regional or national level – tell the world what role you will play in a ten-year push

🗣You can raise your voice by:
🔸Putting on or participating in an exhibition of posters, photos or art showing the beauty of local ecosystems
🔸Holding a discussion about the value of ecosys-tems and the threats they face
🔸Staging an online campaign to draw attention to climate change, nature loss and what can be done to reverse these trends
🔸Writing a letter to your local newspaper»

📖All these tips are from ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION PLAYBOOK, find even more useful information there!

🕹Also you can play a game and restore the planet: select the ecosystem you would like to focus, choose actions you would like to take, pledge them and reach new levels by accomplishing tasks. You can try it here

Do not be afraid to stand for something what really matters for all of us, for every humanbeing. There is no planet B.
