Hi, there 🙃
Once I found myself stagnating in several addictions such as junk food, social media and chaotic work-life schedule. Remote job has a long list of advantages, but it can easily make us addicted to the stuff that is nearby. Do you have a short rest during working day? Why not to fall asleep 😴 for 20 minutes or not to eat that delicious cake in a fridge? Tik - Tok and YouTube are also available at any time. These rewards are simply achieved and you don't have to make a lot of efforts in order to consume them. Our body, particularly our brain, is highly intelligent mechanism - if something is readily available, you will consume it instead of achieving complicated goals. Constant disruptions, such as social media notifications and new videos on YouTube, don't leave you any power. After consuming your level of dopamine increases and there isn't any need to do other stuff.
How to escape it? Interchange past habits. Every habit is some sort of addiction. Why not to take a useful habit instead of a bad one ? And with it I open every Monday category - #Monday_essay 📃.
Ready to dive in?
The knowledge of building new habits is essential for health, happiness 🙂 and work. The main question is how to build a habit that actually stick? Habits are not about our willpower or motivation - the matter is in our behaviors.
If you want any habit to stick you have to make the process as simple as it possible. You are going to prepare your body for a new swimming season and you intend to visit a gym 5 times per week. Rather than starting trainings for 5 times period, just take only 2 of them. Make it easy enough that you complete it without any motivation.
Rather than set huge goals, make small meaningful steps to meet your needs and gradually improve . For instance, you would like to become healthier and you set a sensible goal - to eat less junk food. Set the goal to deny junk food at all and you will loose. Instead, set a small goal to eat less candy - not a packet, but 2-3 sweets.
Everyone commits errors so abandon your all-or-nothing mentality. Get back on a track as quickly as possible if you slip and be ready to plan future failures - they are inevitable.
Hope, this was useful for you. Build healthy habits now and you will be grateful a year after.
