๐Ÿ’•You have celebrated the independence day with great joy at your school. Prepare a report on it.

Ans. This year we celebrated the Independence Day with great enthusiasm in our school. On this occasion, a programme was arranged on the school playground. A big stage was set up and decorated with three colours. All the students and the teachers of our school gathered on the school playground. The national flag was hoisted by the President of the school management at 8:00 a.m. The national anthem was sung by the school band while we were standing respectfully. Then Nilesh Purohit from class VIII recited a song "Sare Jahanse ...." Raj Raval from class Ix recited a poem "Mera Hindustan". The principal gave a short speech and advised all the students to love our country and work for it. He also advised to be ready to sacrifice for our country. The best cadets of scout and guide were given medals for their brave act. There was 'parade' of N.C.C. Sweets were distributed among all. At last the function ended with "Jun Gan Man...". It was a thrilling event for the students.

Report writing
===================
Floods are unfortunately a regular feature in India. Many people lose their lives and property during floods. In spite of progress in science we have not yet been able to prevent or reduce the loss caused by floods.
Heavy rain cause the rivers to overflow. Dams burst due to heavy rains and the waters flood the surrounding areas. Floods bring in their wake lot of damage. House collapse, crops are destroyed; people, birds and animals are mercilessly swept away. Roads, bridges and railway lines are either totally washed away or badly damaged. Electricity and means of communication are disrupted. The affected areas are cut off from the rest of the country.
People of the flood-affected areas are many a time marooned and face a shortage of food. Floods cause a spread of epidemics like cholera and jaundice . The Government and voluntary agencies take steps to provide relief to the victims. Food packets, medicines and other essential things are airdropped by helicopters. Relief camps are opened for the victims of floods.
However, the Government should try to take long term steps to prevent floods. These include, among other things, building dams and planting trees.

๐ŸƒSHORT ANSWER TYPE QUESTIONS ๐Ÿ‚

โฃQ. Why do you think was little Franz afraid of being scolded?
๐Ÿ’Ans: Franz was afraid of being scolded that day especially because M. Hamel, the teacher, had said that he would question them on participles. Franz frankly admits that he was totally ignorant about the topic. His exact words are: "I did not know the first word about them." Secondly, he had started for school very late that morning.

โฃQ. "It was all much more tempting than the rule for participles." What did Franz find 'much more tempting'? How did he finally react?
๐Ÿ’Ans: Franz found that it was a very warm and bright day. The birds were chirping at the edge of woods. The Prussian soldiers were drilling in the open field at the back of sawmill. He could gladly spend life out of doors. However, he had the strength to resist the temptation. Finally, he hurried off to school.

The poem โ€˜My Mother at Sixty-sixโ€™ composed by Kamala Das. This poem shows the fear of losing her mother of the poetess. Her mother is in the last phase of her life. So the poetess feels that she will pass away soon. Poetess gets scared of this thought. To come out of this negative thought, she looked outside of car. The world outside was full of life and activity. The young trees seemed running fast. Children looked very happy. At the airport, they had to undergo a security check. The poetess was standing a few yards away from her mother. She looked again at her old mother. She felt pained to look at the colourless and pale face of her mother. But hiding her tears, the poetess said, โ€œSee you soon Ammaโ€.
