A famous proverb about work and play teaches: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."
It is also true even for machines that these cannot work continuously without rest. In the same way we will become dull if we are always busy in the work. Leisure are the parts of life that give us a chance to remove such dullness of life. A hobby is the best beneficial occupation which gives you happiness.
There are different kinds of hobbies. Just as nature varies from person to person so does hobby. Different people have different hobbies. Some persons are interested in collecting stamps and coins of different countries, while others are fond of collecting flowers, insects and books of different kinds. Some people spend their leisure in painting, music and dancing. There are other who are interested in photography, gardening and boating. Some are fond of reading novels and writing stories.Hobby is meant to give us pleasure. My favourite hobby is gardening. I am very much interested in it. I have got some open space near my house and I am able to utilise my leisure hours in my small garden. Gardening is a very good hobby. It keeps man busy in useful activities. Moreover, it keeps him away from follies. Digging, sowing and watering are also a form of exercise which my hobby gives me.My hobby has improved my health a lot. It is also useful to me in many ways. In the beginning. I was very weak, but now I am very strong and healthy. It has given me m peace. My hobby is also a source of happiness. It brings close contact with nature.

आजकल फैशन जोरों पर है। लड़कियों का तो कहना ही क्या, लड़के भी इधर-उधर बढ़िया से बढ़िया कपड़े पहनकर मटरगश्ती करते दिखायी देते हैं। प्रत्येक युवक अमीर हो या गरीब, अच्छी तरह रहना चाहता है। यदि तुम किसी होटल या सिनेमा में जाओं तो देखोगें कि प्रत्येक व्यक्ति अमीरों की तरह डींगे मारता है या राजकुमारों की तरह व्यवहार करता है। जेब खाली है पर हाथ में सिगरेट होगी। ऐसे युवक ऋण में फंस जाते हैं। जहाँ तक सम्भव हो, अपनी अनावश्यक आवश्यकताओं को कम करें। यदि एक व्यक्ति की आवश्यकताएँ असीमित होगी तो वह उचित और अनुचित उपायों से धन कमाने को बाध्य होगा।
Nowadays fashion is in full swing. Not to speak of girls, even the boys are seen loitering here and there in fancy garments. Every Youngman whether he is rich or poor wants to live excellently. If you go to a cinema hall or a hotel, you will see that everyone boasts like the rich or behaves like a princes. The pocket is empty but he will have a cigarette in his hand. अपनी मातृभाषा को निकृष्ट समझना हमारी भूल है। हमें संसार के साथ रहना और चलना है। अतएव संसार की अन्यान्य भाषाओं को सीखने की जरूरत है पर अपनी मातृभाषा के महत्व का ख्याल रखना भी बहुत जरूरी है। हम अंग्रेजी भाषा और साहित्य के विद्वान हो सकते हैं, पर शेक्सपियर या मिल्टन नहीं हो सकते। अंग्रेज हिन्दी भाषा और साहित्य का विद्वान हो सकता है, पर वह सूर या तुलसी कभी नहीं हो सकता। अच्छी किताबें हम मातृभाषा में ही लिख सकते हैं।
It is our fallacy to consider our mother tongue inferior. We have to live and move along with this world, therefore it is necessary to learn all other languages of the world, but it is also imperative to take care of importance of our mother tongue.We can be a scholar of English language and literature but cannot be Shakespeare or Milton.The English men can become a scholar of Hindi language or literature but can never be Soordas or Tulsidas. Good books we can write only in our mother tongue.
