๐ ๐งThis oily-sheen is made of a film of a rod-shaped bacteria called Leptothrix discophora. The bacteria oxidize dissolved iron and manganese for energy and secrete proteins and carbohydrates.
Often these sheens have an iridescent or rainbowโlike
appearance similar to what one sees when a small amount of oil, gasoline or other petroleum product is spilled on water. In some cases, a reddish precipitate can be seen also in the water where these sheens occur.
https://www.pca.state.mn.us/sites/default/files/c-er4-07.pdf
A chlorine spill into a body of water would most likely kill the iron oxidizing bacteria producing the non-petroleum rainbow sheen. Chlorine is also used in tap water to remove this bacteria in the first place.

๐UFO shot down by $400K US missile may have been a $12 hobby balloon
The Northern Illinois Bottlecap Balloon Brigade fears one of its diligently-tracked gasbags that recently went missing was mistaken as the mystery object taken out by the military over Canada on Feb. 12.
The Pico Balloon โ a silver-coated, cylindrically shaped object โ reported its last position at 38,910 ft. off the west coast of Alaska on Friday, Feb. 10.
๐จ๐ฆBy Saturday, based on the balloonโs projected path, it would have been over the central part of the Yukon Territory around the same time a military Lockheed Martin F-22 shot down an unidentified object of a similar description and altitude in the same Canadian vicinity.
Each missile used to shoot down unidentified objects costs about $400,000.
$400K down the drain๐คก

Biden admin turns down Ohio's request for disaster assistance
The Federal Emergency Management Agency told Ohio's state government that it was not eligible for disaster assistance to help the community recover from the toxic spill, as the incident didn't qualify as a traditional disaster (tornado, hurricane, etc).
However, there is another proven way to get the money.

Sam Smith: "I'd love to be a fisherthem ... I'd be any type of fisherthem."
It reminds me of children who create new secret languages to communicate and have fun.
Only now it's adults practicing to see who can come up with the most ridiculous shit, who can play this dress up game the longest.
They come up with new pronouns and get angry when others refuse to play their game, just like a toddler would.
Next on the list: themkind and theminism.

Hulu docuseries "The 1619 Project" puts a price tag on slavery reparations for black Americans
The "1619 Project" seriesโ sixth and final episode features William Darity Jr., a Duke University professor and proponent of social โequity.โ
Darity estimates that each individual should receive about $350,000 in reparations. Since there are 40 million black-American descendants of slavery out of a total of 45 million black people in the United States, the total bill would be approximately $14 trillion dollars.
This is wild.

South Korea's world lowest fertility rate drops again
๐นSouth Korea just announced that their current birthrate is at 0.78%, a new record for the world's lowest fertility rate.
This has a significant effect on the nation: daycares are being converted into nursing homes, OB-GYNs are closing while funeral parlors are opening.
The government has tried multiple social programs and campaigns to get their population to reproduce, including pouring over $210 billion into programs incentivizing procreation. But clearly the programs have not worked.
๐นThe entire world is experiencing low birth rates far below replacement numbers. According to the United Nations, the global birthrate is currently at 1.76%, but replacement numbers need to be at 2.1%.

The Rage Against The War Machine rally
A series of anti-war protests took place over the weekend, with the main rally in Washington, D.C., supported by "sister rallies" in other cities across the U.S and in Munich, Germany.
Several thousand people attended the main rally to express their strong belief: we must avoid nuclear war at all costs. Despite different stances on other issues, they came together to say they don't support the warmongers.
Former State Department speakers, politicians, journalists, and activists - Tulsy Gabbard, Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, Wyatt Reed and others - spoke at the protest, calling for anti-war unity.
The rally did not receive extensive coverage in the mainstream media. Occasional pieces and reports describe the protest as a "small one and a weird one," greatly downplaying the number of protesters. They try to promote the idea that the protest only attracted a bunch of anti-vaxxers, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists.
It's astounding that the far lest are boycotting the anti-nuclear war rally. Obviously, we should be able to put aside our ideological differences when it comes to nuclear war.
