💎 TON Payments for WordPress & WooCommerce

Today we'll tell you about a useful product for mass adoption, developed by Anatoly Yumashev. It's a plugin or "bridge" between TON services and WordPress & WooCommerce-based web stores.

TON Gateway, as the developer calls it, allows for payments using TON coins. He mentioned that he's been long interested in integrating crypto transactions into websites. Paying with Ton is convenient, and the process is similar to Google Pay & Apple Pay. Pavel Durov's initiative to launch Telegram products via blockchain has made this even easier.

At first, it seemed like a tremendous task - creating nodes in the blockchain, writing monitoring mechanisms, etc. However, it turned out that all these merchant services are already present in TON. He just had to write a plugin. The result was a typical payment gateway for WooCommerce.

The backend process includes:
🔽 integration with Telepay, a turnkey merchant service
🔽 authorization via Telegram
🔽 payment receipt message from a Telegram bot

The gateway works with the website's original currency. It automatically converts the order amount into the selected cryptocurrency, then issues an invoice for payment at the specified exchange rate.

The process for clients is the following:
🔽 Install a wallet from the TON website: Tonkeeper, Tonhub, Wallet for desktop version or browser extension. You can also use the Wallet bot.
🔽 Top up your wallet.
🔽 After ordering, you get a link and a QR code. Send payments to the TON address or via a mobile wallet and a QR code.

This method has the advantage of functioning all over the world and for any amount.

💎🌐 TON Society talks about The Open Challenge (TOC)

Recently, TON Society spoke about an important issue actively discussed by the participants of the TON FAM in Dubai. For three days, between November 17 - 19, representatives of the TON community and project partners shared their achievements and plans, highlighted results and came together for stronger cooperation.

The conference was attended by teams from Alphanonce.com, Tonkeeper, VistaLabs, Ton Whales.com, OrbitChain.io, TON Play Insider, GetGem and many others.

One of the main topics was the project’s Roadmap for 2023, presented by Andrey Rogozov. Its key component is The Open Challenge (TOC) program, aimed at supporting the most promising projects on the blockchain.

TOC establishes the main directions and participating teams. Those main directions include:
🔽Gaming
🔽Social
✅DeFi — DEX & Tokens
✅DeFi — другое (bridges, lending, etc.),
✅NFTs
✅Wallets
✅Infrastructure (DAO, oracles, etc.)

Because Telegram is creating its own DEX wallet, additional levels will likely be added. Therefore, a TOC with updated directions is to be compiled and submitted to the community for comments early next year.

Overall, the beginning of 2023 brings a lot of exciting and significant advancements for the deployment of the blockchain ecosystem. The number of reward coins to be handed out will likely be significantly increased.

👥 TON at the University of Prague

The Prague University of Economics and Business recently invited representatives of TONANA and BlockCzech. During the visit, Vladislav Bliznyuk and Yevgeny Yenisei talked to students and professors about the potential of TON and its impact on inter-network communication.

As the invitees later noted, this was a “fantastic opportunity” to talk to “a new generation of blockchain experts and share knowledge with the academic community.”

❗️💎Important announcement from The Open Network

TON is requesting all inactive miners and genesis wallet owners who have never used their coins to transfer out their funds to any address on the TON network before 00:00 UTC on January 1, 2023.

This will enable TON Community to get accurate data about the circulating supply of coins and the number of sleeping wallets whose owners could completely lose access to their assets.

The problem is that today data aggregators show different statistics, not taking into account the uniqueness of TON history.

According to TON data, there are 204 inactive mining accounts containing at least 1 Ton. Their total balance is 1.08 billion Ton. The full public list of addresses is provided by the independent data aggregator TonTech.

TON is counting on the community to bring clarity and transparency to the tokenomics of the network. "The community has a right to know the real numbers," not rumors and guesses. This would also improve data accuracy for service providers such as CoinMarketCap.

🎙 Price dropped, volume increased

This sums up TON’s situation on the market over the past few days. The coin peaked at $2.81 on December 14, the highest since March. Despite the recent correction of -17%, Ton is forming a bullish trend. In 24 hours, the coin increased by 2.51% to $2.45.

However, another important indicator is the trading volume. A higher volume reflects that more buyers are interested in the crypto coin. So, during this week, the volume increased to almost $100 million, which has never happened before. In fairness, today, this indicator returned to 64.3 million.

The influx of new users to TON primarily comes from the launch of the Fragment platform. On the first day, more than 200,000 new wallets were created on the auction platform, and the price of Ton increased by 50% during the week.

Currently, TON ranks 22nd by capitalization, and the community blog on CMC has reached 90,300 subscribers.

❌✈️ Unfortunate case of “Too good to be true”

It has come to light that scammers from Russia have found two new ways to steal Telegram accounts. This time, it’s more technical.

1️⃣ The user receives a "system notification" stating that someone has logged into their account. To prevent unauthorized access, they are offered to disable the unauthorized user on the Telegram website. The link points to an exact replica of the official Telegram website, but it's fake. As soon as the user clicks on the link, he completely loses access to the account.

2️⃣ The user receives a message they received access to Telegram Premium. When trying to log in and activate the "gift", their Telegram account gets stolen.

🗓 SafePal now supports the main TON network

⚙ OpenMask now supports Minter

OpenMask, a tool for developers and wallet added the Minter service to environment, which serves to create and manage jettons on the TON network. People can use it to easily mine, list and transfer their own jettons.

The tool is certainly useful for supporting startups. But there is a problem: not all issued tokens and jettons have value. Usually they're are not worth much, and are beneficial only to their owners.

In 2022, according to research, almost 117,629 scam tokens were issued, about 350 per day. They are mostly issued on BBNB networks (12% of all BEP-20 tokens) and ETH (8% of all ERC—20) are fraudulent. Since fall 2020 over 2 million investors have lost their money forever from such scams.

🔗 Orbit Chain launches the Orbs Jetton

Ozys, known as the Orbit Bridge developer and a partner of TON, has just added the ORBS token to its cross-chain bridge assets. ORBS is now available on The Open Network through all its decentralized applications (dApps).

The ORBS token will also be listed on Megaton Finance after this DEX AMM will be launched on the TON network in January 2023.

This is a significant advancement in ORBS/TON compatibility and interoperability, given that in 2022 Orbit Bridge processed transactions of more than $12 billion and accumulated over $200 million in total value locked (TVL).
