🔎 Offers on Fragment

Apparently, now Telegram usernames can be bought on the Fragment auction, even those that haven't been put up for sale.

This feature was first mentioned on the JpegMillionaire channel. He has conducted a small test, the results of which can be viewed here or on the screenshot above.

Once the offer gets announced, the service commits to deliver it for 1-100 Ton, depending on the indicated price.

Is it convenient? Sure. If the user agrees, he will need to go to Fragment and put his username up for auction. Then, it's a matter of chance if you'll be the lucky bidder to get it. At least it's done voluntarily, without risking getting banned by the owner of the Telegram account.

👛 Cypher Capital, a venture investor, puts up $10 million in TON

Cryptocurrency investment company Cypher Capital from the UAE decided to invest $10 million in The Open Network (TON) and its blockchain infrastructure.

Bill Qian, Chairman of Cypher Capital and TON Foundation board member, said that this will contribute to TON's growth and expansion into the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Turkey and India.

He also stressed the importance of a rational approach to blockchains. He reminded about the risks involved and the caution necessary when dealing with the hype around the release of new tokens.

As per Tontech.io, the number of accounts on the TON network has steadily grown. In December, it has reached 1.6 million, an outstanding metric for the blockchain ecosystem.

👛 TON Core Update for December 2022

As the developers have recently announced, the blockchain has undergone many improvements, such as:

🔽Several bug fixes in TON Proxy, improved stability
✅Collator/validator checks now have their storage stat calculation optimized. New block generation and validation has become more secure
✅Validators can now update some previously hard-coded parameters through the ConfigParams setting
✅In addition, the maximum contract size can now be specified in the configuration with an updated TonLib, abseil-cpp, etc.
✅Configurations for Token Bridge have been added, among many other things. See details here.

🔥 Most importantly, TON Storage was updated with storage-daemon components (creation, loading of package files, storage-provider, storage-daemon-cli).

The updates are scheduled to go live on January 9!

🌐 The Mixin network announced its integration with TON

Today, the Mixin Network reported plans to integrate with The Open Network (TON). Soon, MixinBot and MixinMessenger will support deposits and withdrawals of our cryptocurrency.

Mixin positions itself as a free and lightning-fast peer-to-peer digital assets transaction network. It has been a platform for decentralized services (DApps) since 2017.

Mixin has a wallet and a messenger, which can be used to transfer any cryptocurrency. By the way, MixinMessenger runs on the Signal protocol and supports end-to-end encryption.

Another cool feature of the network is its own cryptocurrency, XIN. It is used in its infrastructure and as a settlement unit for its ecosystem. In fact, it is a utility token, as the Ton token will soon become.

🌐 Blockchain Project TON Enters Crypto Storage Market

This was the heading of a recent article on CoinDesk, one of the world's most popular hub for crypto, blockchain technology and Web3.

As per the publication, TON Storage aims to provide large-scale solutions for safekeeping data. Users will be able to share files of any size by paying a fee to node operators for hosting their files.

"A node operator and a user create a smart contract on the TON blockchain that guarantees that the user will pay a fixed amount in Toncoin to store files for a predetermined amount of time,” as Ton Foundation stated. This will ensure users are able to store data “virtually in perpetuity".

In recent years, demand for decentralized storage has been steadily growing. There are already options on the market, such as Arweave, BitTorrent, Filecoin, etc. We're yet to find out how TON Storage will beat the competition.
