For the past several weeks Tonkeeper and AppStore review team has been involved in a dispute around the definition of NFTs, the feature that we added to Tonkeeper three months ago. According to Apple, NFTs are digital products: if NFTs are sold on other platforms and made available in Tonkeeper, they must also be offered through the In-App Purchases (IAP) system (see guidelines 3.1.1 and 3.1.3b). For example, if we were selling our own NFT tokens, the guidelines would require us to offer users an option to pay for them via IAP payment system.

A quick update on TON DNS: how it works, how it’s supported in Tonkeeper and what to expect in the future updates.
Sadly, our initial plan to support TON DNS in time for auction did not work out due to a dispute with AppStore and subsequent delays in development process. Read the details in our previous article. The discussion with Apple is not over yet, but we continue to improve Tonkeeper nonetheless.
Using domain names
This is the easiest: simply enter the .ton name in the address field; Tonkeeper will find its address on the blockchain and then make a transaction to that address.
In the future TON DNS will be used for authenticating apps and services. To do that we are working on the second edition of TON Connect 2.0 that will offer a simpler and more robust authentication and interaction with Dapps thanks to TON DNS and other improvements.
Buying a domain name
TON DNS is a decentralized name system. Anyone can own any number of names and transfer than as a regular NFT item.
Each name starts its life on an open auction. You can read the rules here: https://telegra.ph/TON-DNS-06-30. To get a name from an auction you simply send a regular TON payment to an address of the auction smart contract.

After winning the auction the name remains on the auction contract. In order to make use of it, you need to move it to your wallet and attach your wallet address to it.
In the latest update 2.5.2 domain names that you won on the auction are displayed on your balance even if they are still owned by the auction contract. This is convenient, but is not enough to use them. That’s why “Transfer NFT” button is disabled.
In the upcoming update 2.6 you will find a button to link your domain name to the wallet: it will move the token onto your balance and attach the wallet address to it.
Next steps
In the subsequent updates we plan to expand support for DNS auctions to make it easy to make bets and manage domain names directly in Tonkeeper. Stay tuned!

Today Telegram has launched its auction platform for usernames. Tonkeeper users may connect to the app Fragment to buy and trade their usernames, while using Tonkeeper to authorize transactions on the TON blockchain.
Telegram usernames are compatible with TON DNS standard and will work just like any domain name in Tonkeeper and other wallets. There are a few important differences though:
1. Telegram usernames use .t.me zone instead of .ton zone;
2. Telegram usernames use a different initial auction mechanism. This allows Telegram to control the pool of available names and protect existing accounts. TON DNS does not have preexisting name allocations, and therefore gives access to all the names equally;
3. After the initial purchase a username can be owned directly and traded freely just like any TON DNS name. Plus, users may continue using Telegram auctions to place their names on a secondary sale.
