If you haven’t already, please consider adding Toncoin to your “Favorites” list on either CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko (or both!) by clicking on the star beside the coin’s name.

First, it’ll be easier to follow price movements, and you’ll never need to enter the coin’s name in the search bar.

Second, by adding Toncoin to “Favorites,” you’ll be bringing more recognition to the coin among the users of these two sources.

Third, what’s crucial is CoinMarketCap’s analysis of Toncoin’s circulating supply. Many pay close attention to these tokenomics, so let’s show CoinMarketCap that there is a demand for this data.

Getting a confirmation of Toncoin’s volume from such a site would allow TON to receive a meaningful rating and for it to be placed among the biggest blockchain projects in the world.

To help our project, go to CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko and hit that star button beside Toncoin.

To add a coin to “Favorites,” you must be a registered user on either site.
👨‍💻 We’re going to be publishing a series of posts dedicated to the TON developers.

In May 2020, Telegram settled an agreement with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and publicly announced it was discontinuing the Telegram Open Network.

Shortly afterward, two developers, Anatoliy and Kirill, took it upon themselves to revive the TON project. Almost immediately, they were joined by other contributors, most of whom had participated in public Telegram competitions for developers. Many of these developers were preparing to launch services native to the blockchain, which had yet to go live.

Anatoliy Makosov · tolya-yanot

A 10-time Telegram Contests champion, Anatoliy won multiple contests by submitting a 4-kilobyte code, defeating hundreds of other competitors. Starting his career in game development, he worked on popular web MMORPG games and other titles that have tens of millions of users from around the world. Later, he transitioned to the world of blockchain technology and contributed to several popular crypto projects.

Kirill Emelyanenko · EmelyanenkoK

Kirill has a Ph.D. in computer science and has won several Telegram Contests hackathons. He started deeply studying blockchain technology in its early days, working with different decentralized networks.

Anatoliy and Kirill met at a TON Blockchain Contest, which was hosted by Telegram in 2019, and both happened to finish in first place.

The two went on to work on the development of Orion Protocol, a well-known CEX and DEX aggregator. During this time, they learned two things. First, they work well together, and second, amid the growing trend of exchange aggregators and liquidity pools, it became apparent to them what the industry’s next revolution would be: blockchain aggregation.

Now they’re dedicating all of their time and energy to working on the TON blockchain.

Before starting to work on the TON project, Anatoliy and Kirill competed in a hackathon to develop a new web version of Telegram. Having programmed everything from scratch, they managed to make it past four stages and 113 other projects only to finish in a close second in the finals.

Currently, the team of developers comprises unique programmers who are working on and maintaining TON. We’ll tell you about them in more detail in the following posts.
The Open Network is turning 2.

Pavel Durov and his brother, Nikolai, conceptualized the next-generation Telegram Open Network blockchain in 2017.

The idea finally became a reality in 2018 when Telegram commenced the early stages of development and testing.

In the spring of 2019, Telegram launched the first testnet and, on Nov. 15, 2019, upgraded it to testnet2, which would subsequently become the mainnet. This marked the day the Telegram Open Network was born.

The following spring in 2020, Pavel announced that the project would be discontinued.

In summer 2021, having answered an open petition signed by developers who had continued working on and developing the blockchain network, Telegram relinquished the ton.org domain as well as the project’s underlying technology to the TON Foundation.

Shortly thereafter, the project was renamed The Open Network and was thus given a second life.

The @tonblockchain team of developers has been working tirelessly ever since and, in a relatively short time, produced some outstanding results:

— More than 80,000 new wallets were created in the network.
— 2 fully functional cross-chain bridges were launched.
— It became one of the biggest crypto communities among Russian speakers.
— Toncoin got listed on some of the most prominent centralized and decentralized exchanges in the world.

The Open Network’s goal is to unite all blockchains along with the internet to create a truly global network.

TON is already a fully functional, decentralized blockchain with fast transactions (settled in only seconds) and cheap fees (costing fractions of a cent). Very few projects around the world boast such specifications.

The project has just begun to gain momentum, but the best is yet to come. We wish TON a happy birthday, and we'll continue to follow all of its developments.
More than 10,000 people are following Toncoin on CoinMarketCap.

Thank you to the channel’s subscribers who answered our call yesterday. More than 10,000 people added Toncoin to their “Favorites” on CoinMarketCap after reading our post.

If you haven’t had the chance to add it, please do so when you have a spare moment.

We’re honored to see how the TON community is growing and how much trust it has in us.

Take part in testing the TON Google Chrome extension.

Last month, we wrote about the TON Wallet extension available in Google Chrome, and today, we’re unveiling the updated version.

This time, the developers have prepared something special for everyone.

TON Magic Mode.

By turning on Magic Mode in the settings, you’ll be able to send Toncoin to friends directly in the Telegram web version, as is shown in the attached video.

Such a function is indeed a significant step forward. The @tonblockchain developers have found a way to send Toncoin and other cryptocurrencies directly within the messenger’s interface.

This kind of function has never been available in Telegram until now.

Sending crypto this way is safe and reliable. The code is open-source, and you can verify it at any moment.

Download the updated version of the TON Extension in the Google Chrome Store.
We’d like to tell you about our recently launched app, Tonkeeper: the full version of the TON Wallet that has big plans.

Our standard crypto wallets are simple and safe and do the basics right: sending and storing Toncoin. And they’ll continue doing so.

Tonkeeper expands on these basics by allowing users to carry out various tasks with their Toncoin without ever leaving the app.

What’s special about Tonkeeper:

Tonkeeper is a native TON crypto wallet for Toncoin in which users are shown price charts of their cryptocurrencies. The developers, however, plan to add more features, such as:

— Buying Toncoin with a bank card within the app.
— Trading crypto on popular cryptocurrency exchanges.
— Sending wrapped Toncoin to Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and many more.

Installing the app is just as easy as the standard TON Wallet.

Tonkeeper is available for download in the App Store and Google Play.

Please note:

The mobile wallet’s first synchronization may take some time after installing the app. If your transactions and balances do not appear after a few minutes, you’ll have to relaunch the app.

Toncoin has become the most successful cryptocurrency in the history of the OKEx Jumpstart program.

As you’re already aware, Toncoin was featured in OKEx’s Jumpstart program.

Over 4.2 million OKB tokens were staked in the process, totaling $130 million.

The crypto exchange won’t disclose the number of participants from the mining session, but it said that the number set a new Jumpstart record.

If the maximum number of coins staked permitted per user was 1,000 OKB, then we can make a rough estimate that approximately 4,200 people showed interest in Toncoin and participated in the program.

We’re happy to see TON’s growing popularity.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the OKEx Jumpstart program!
Welcome to the TON Community!

- What is TON?

TON is an ultra-fast and user-friendly blockchain designed to host individual users and enterprises. The project was created by Telegram founder Pavel Durov and his brother, Nikolai, in 2017, but three short years later, Telegram walked away from the project for good.

TON is led by an open-source community of experienced developers consisting of some of the best programmers in the world and Telegram blockchain contest winners. Applying its existing ecosystem of communities, developers, publishers, payment providers, and merchants, TON is uniquely positioned to establish the first-ever mass-market cryptocurrency in history.

- Where to start

To fully appreciate the ease of use of our apps, look no further than TON’s native Tonkeeper crypto wallet. As a non-custodial mobile wallet with a user-friendly interface and even built-in price charts and access to various cryptocurrency exchanges, Tonkeeper is the perfect app for users of all levels. If you prefer the user experience in Telegram, however, then give the @wallet and @CryptoBot bots a try. Users can now send crypto to their friends or other wallets in just a few seconds without leaving the Telegram app. For more resources, scroll down to find more links.

- The TON experience

As you’ll quickly learn by using our apps, the experience of sending and receiving cryptocurrencies is smooth and user-friendly. In addition to convenient apps, low fees, and speedy transactions, the blockchain infrastructure is designed to be a robust ecosystem, which will be able to onboard billions of users and have the capacity to implement NFTs, DNS, DEXs, and much more.

- Why is this important?

Without the infinitely scalable TON blockchain, there can neither be a standard cryptocurrency used for the regular exchange of value in people’s everyday lives nor a decentralized platform that achieves true mass adoption. TON is the only way to free the internet that is otherwise forever chained to the goodwill of centralized services.

The native cryptocurrency of the TON blockchain is Toncoin.

Where to buy Toncoin:

Centralized platforms:
FTX — a top-3 crypto exchange according to CoinMarketCap.
OKEx — a top-5 crypto exchange by volume according to CoinMarketCap.
EXMO — the largest Eastern European crypto exchange.
Gate.io — the crypto exchange with the largest number of trading pairs.
Bit.com — a high-performance derivatives exchange.

Mercuryo — a convenient way to buy Toncoin with a bank card.
Neocrypto — another convenient way to buy Toncoin with a bank card.

@Wallet — a Telegram bot to buy, store, and send Toncoin. Crypto and bank cards are accepted.

Decentralized platforms:
Uniswap — the world’s largest DEX protocol.
PancakeSwap — the largest DEX protocol on Binance Smart Chain.
Biswap — one of the biggest DEX platforms.

Upcoming TON features.

In our chat channel, we often receive questions about future developments of TON and what the developers are working on at the moment.

Let us take this opportunity to remind you that the 126-page white paper is available on our official website, and it describes in detail the underlying technology and the vision TON has for the project.

The project’s roadmap can be found in our official Primer.

To have a better understanding of the project, we recommend you read these two files. Today, as a teaser for the community, we’ve put together a list of exciting products slated to launch in the near future.

TON Nominators.

We’ve already told you a little about TON Nominators. Due to the network’s rapid growth and Toncoin listings on exchanges, the developers have been forced to reprioritize their list of things to do, but the TON Nominators update will soon be completed.

TON Payments.

Planned release: End of 2021.

The team of developers is planning on releasing a token standard that is native to the TON blockchain — i.e., alternative cryptocurrencies on the network in addition to Toncoin, as well as NFTs.

TON Payments uses Lightning Network technology to establish payment channels for micropayments. Why implement payment channels when TON already has quick transactions with low fees? Because they’ll be used where astronomical speeds for mutual settlements are needed when using TON Proxy, for example.

TON DNS.

Planned release: Q1 2022.

TON DNS is a system of domain names on the TON blockchain. It won’t be used strictly for TON Sites, but users will also be able to buy a short username and use it instead of a long crypto wallet address when sending or receiving crypto.

Domain names will be sold at an open auction.

TON DeFi.

Planned release: Q1 2022.

TON DeFi is an ecosystem of financial services and apps on the TON blockchain — e.g., decentralized exchanges. The incumbent DeFi protocols have some glaring disadvantages: They’re either too expensive to use, too slow, or lacking security.

TON will be offering a DeFi platform whose fees are low and transactions are fast.

TON Proxy.

Planned release: First half of 2022.

TON Proxy is an anonymous proxy/anonymizer for TON nodes. In short, it’s a VPN based on the TON blockchain that’s available to everyone. TON DNS and TON Proxy will provide users with decentralization and security.

TON Sites.

Planned release: First half of 2022.

These are sites with the domain name “.ton” based on the TON blockchain. They’ll be similar to regular internet resources — but decentralized.

TON Storage.

Planned release: 2022.

This is distributed file storage technology. In a nutshell, it’s a better version of Dropbox. It’ll allow the storage and transfer of large volumes of data.

TON is already a stable and fully functional blockchain.

We’re expecting big things for the TON ecosystem in 2022 and for it to expand on a global scale.
Let’s get Toncoin listed on Binance!

Chanpeng Zhao, the founder of crypto exchange Binance, asked his Twitter followers: “What to list?” — i.e., what coin to add on Binance.

TON Community subscribers and supporters have come out in waves, suggesting Zhao list Toncoin, and so far, more than 2,000 people have cast their votes.

We’re asking all of our subscribers and whoever reads this post to show your support for Toncoin by going on Twitter and liking this post.

At the moment, a few popular cryptocurrencies are leading the pack, among which is the well-known memecoin Floki Inu.

Let’s show the growing strength and numbers of our community. Cast your vote for Toncoin to join the ranks of the biggest cryptocurrencies in the world.

Transaction fees in the @wallet bot have decreased.

The @wallet bot developers are significantly lowering transaction fees during the Toncoin giveaway, which runs until Dec. 1.

The fees of every transaction from the start of the giveaway period will be reviewed and readjusted to the new rate.

Your bonus Toncoin will be added to your balance on Dec. 30.
Liquidity pools on the PancakeSwap crypto exchange.

Today, we’re going to tell you about something useful you can do with your Toncoin: providing liquidity in pools for token pairs.

Users can now provide Toncoin liquidity in token pools and, as an incentive, receive commission from transaction fees, which are paid by other users for their transactions on a decentralized exchange.

We’ve put together a detailed guide in which we explain what liquidity pools are, why they’re needed, and how to use them, for example, on PancakeSwap:

Check out the TON Apps section on TON’s official website.

This new section is where you can find all the apps and services that are native to the TON blockchain, which includes crypto wallets and links to exchanges where you can get Toncoin.

It’s akin to the App Store or Google Play, but for TON’s blockchain.

Among the many apps are interesting and useful utilities, such as Tonometer, a Telegram bot that tracks the price of Toncoin, and TON Grafana, a web interface that provides technical data on the blockchain’s current state.

We recommend you add TON Apps to your “Favorites” in your web browser so you can stay up-to-date with the ever-expanding TON ecosystem
Forwarded from The Open Network (Tolya)
We pay lots of attention to simplicity of our apps and services.

You might have noticed that our wallets and other apps contain almost no technical information. What you see is animated stickers, not transaction hashes or block heights.

The only tech info you’ll find is your wallet address, which is no harder than card or phone number. But it will be dropped soon, too – once TON DNS goes live, everyone will be able to register a short username and use it instead.

People don’t need to get under the hood of the blockchain to start using it. Blockchain’s advantages such as privacy and security should be available to everyone.

We’re often asked if we’re planning a full-fledged TON blockchain explorer (a service that scans blocks and transactions). Development of such an explorer is not on our top priority list because we believe average user won’t need it.

Whenever you send transfer to a friend using your regular mobile banking, you don’t need to go to ‘banking explorer’ afterwards or launch Internet traffic scanner to make sure the money’s indeed been sent. We’ll release a full-fledged explorer, sure, but it’ll be used by devs for debugging – average users simply won’t need it.

Most of the existing interfaces were created during the era of blockchains of the past. You send coins and wait anywhere between 10 minutes and a couple of hours, usually not even sure if your transfer will be processed.

In TON, transactions are cheap and almost instant. A modern tech now gives us an opportunity to redefine and simplify people’s interaction with blockchain.
How does Toncoin enter circulation?

Today’s post will go over the TON mining structure.

The current iteration of The Open Network blockchain is the testnet2 that was launched by Telegram in 2019. Once the testnet was launched, 5 billion coins were released, which were later renamed Toncoin.

In 2020, Telegram separated itself from the project, and all coins were transferred to special “Giver” proof-of-work smart contracts.

Why was it structured this way?

Givers can be considered as a safe that releases coins to those who correctly solve the safe’s code.

In other words, Toncoin is not publicly available and is not immediately released for sale. The only way Toncoin can enter circulation before being bought on an exchange is by mining it first.

This way, the network remains decentralized.

Telegram could have burned all of its coins, but that would have spelled the end of testnet2. At that time, however, a group of dedicated developers had come together and wanted to continue working on the network.

As a result, Telegram provided network participants the opportunity to mine Toncoin via transparent proof-of-work mining.

Who solves this “code” and how?

Miners are the ones who solve these “codes.” The process goes like this: A user installs special software on their computer, and in the background, it attempts to solve mathematical problems broadcast by Givers.

The miner who solves the problem first receives 100 Toncoin, after which the Giver broadcasts a new mathematical problem, and the process starts anew.

You can read more on this process here.

Do Givers do anything else?

Givers are solely tasked with overseeing mining on the network, ensuring that it’s decentralized and available to all users.

How can I become a miner?

Follow the links for in-depth instructions on how to become a miner:
GPU mining. How to mine with graphics cards?
How to mine on Windows?

Mining Toncoin can even be done on regular personal computers.
