Why WebApps are the Future of the Internet

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, who also stood at the origins of the TON blockchain, often complains about Google Play and App Store taking a monstrous 30% tax from app developers. While Android users can enjoy the privilege of installing apk files directly to their smartphone, iPhone users have no other way but to obey the rules of the Apple game.

Thankfully, Web 3.0 gives us an opportunity to outwit the greedy corporations with the help of WebApp — a technology that allows users to open applications inside Telegram. WebApps look as native as possible, and give the developers more freedom in terms of UX/UI design than native or cross-platform apps do. Consequently, the chances of making a good first impression on the user and winning his loyalty grow tremendously — of course, if you can explain to your audience where to tap exactly.

Of course, developing a WebApp is more difficult than creating a website or a chat bot. But we take difficulty as a challenge. And we accept it because we see a clear trend towards the use of web applications for online stores in Telegram. So, there is some probability that Telegram will open its own app store soon.
