Vulnerability in Skype could expose user's IP address! 🤔

Security researchers have discovered a new vulnerability in Skype that allows attackers to view the user's IP address. To do this, they simply need to send a message to the user with an embedded link, and the mere act of opening this message will reveal the user's IP address.

☝🏻 Interestingly, there isn't even a need to click on the link. Moreover, this link can lead to any website.

The vulnerability affects only the mobile versions of Skype.

Microsoft has acknowledged the existence of the issue but stated that "exposing IP addresses is not considered a security vulnerability" 🤣.

The company has announced that it will address this flaw in a "future product update," but it hasn't provided specific timelines.

Therefore, until Microsoft fixes this vulnerability, hackers can continue to exploit it, potentially exposing user information without their knowledge. 🤷🏼‍♀️
