Issue the Third is finally on sale, the wait is over! Grab a copy at www.toadstoolmag.com!
Itβs the best one yet, with returning favourites M.S. Jones and A.J. Bell both contributing new stories, alongside a slew of other fantastic contributors like Dave Martel and Froskaz. Catch up with your favourite squirrel Rua the Red and witness Mirrim and Martin beat back a pesky new-build housing development in a woodland!
We have more art than ever, and our new favourite section called Little Gnomes where some of the smallest members of the community have contributed their own cute poems and art!
This issue has had more love and sunshine poured into it than any other, and we hope you feel the rays while reading it!

A jumbled preview of whatβs on offer in the spring issueβ¦
Weβve had a hard time picking our favourite original art, but it has to be between the Elf Prince riding on a fox and the gnome fighting a berry-thieving crow!
Both of these are illustrations for fantastic stories in issue three, alongside many more fine original artworks.

Twenty pounds from being funded - perhaps another friendly gnome could help get this over the line?

ENGLISH FOLK SONG: SAVING THE GEOFF BODENHAM TAPES
I've been through this material properly now and am more certain of the contents.
Firstly I must admit a mistake; there is no Cinefilm, it's actually old style reel-to-reel magnetic audio tape. This means there is less video footage than I initially believed, but the hope is these tapes are very high quality audio recordings from TV and recording studios where Geoff performed. There should still be plenty of video recording on the VHS tapes included in the collection however.
I've spoken to an expert who can professionally transfer all of the material for me and negotiated a final quote; it's Β£200.
Until now every digitisation I have ever made has been entirely self funded, and although I quietly added donation links to my profile I have never actually made a public appeal for a single penny, neither have I recieved any such support.
This is the first time I am regretfully having to do so; Β£200 might not seem like a great sum of money, but I'm a working class parent to 2 small children with a third on the way later this year, undertaking this kind of work, especially if I plan to do it at every available opportunity will require outside support to be viable.
I already have preliminary permission from Geoff Bodenham's daughter to share any transferred material that is of a non-private nature, once the family have been given time to review them. When this is finalised all relevant audio and video recordings will be uploaded publicly to this channel.
If you're able to donate anything, even the price of a cup of coffee, collectively that might go a very long way, if every subscriber of this chat alone gave only 50p we would sail past that target. Anyone who is able to donate a larger amount (above Β£20) will be able to be named in thanks in the video description for making this possible, providing the name given is reasonably sensible.
If you can't donate, then you can help this project by sharing the link or this post to anywhere people share a love of English Folk Music.
Thank you very much in advance for your time and your support!

π§ itβs somewhat rustic but the woodland setting is most agreeable. Anybody wishing to peruse gnome-homes should read the βMuch-room Real Estateβ ads present in every issue of the magazine: www.toadstoolmag.com π

Once upon a time a gnome and a fairy met in an enchanted wood to celebrate the latest issue of Toadstool Magazine with a tea party.
While thereβs a lot of beautiful artwork to look through, Iβm betting a favorite section was Little Gnomes, where kids can contribute their own art, poetry, etc. (since they know the artists in this monthβs issueπ).
