TMWhatsApp doesn't have any function that automatically deletes chats, when you forget to backup that is what happens.
Before you do anything concerning uninstalling or updating please first backup your chats. If you don't and anything goes wrong may your chats RIP.
NOTE: Recommended backup, go to: (TM Mods >> Backup and Restore >> Backup TMWhatsApp Data.) Then while installing a new version please select "RESTORE" to get back all your chats and settings. After that you might be asked to verify your number. Verify it and enjoy TMWhatsApp.
