SMS login feature removed or broken?

If you haven't signed up for Telegram yet, please register from your phone or tablet first.I registered years ago.I do not have Telegram on any other app.I asked to login via SMS and Telegram says OK go get the code I sent to your app.​On the web, every time you go through the login process and enter your number to receive a code by SMS Telegram says "We've sent the code to the Telegram app on your other device.". Impossible. I do not have Telegram on any other device. Anyway: why did you do that I asked you to send me the code by SMS?Is this intentional by Telegram? Are they trying to stop the SMS login route? Or is their SMS verification just broken?If it is intentional, was there an official communication on this?
