Hello communityGeo-Location Issues:A few days a go i was playing around with my smartphone Xiaomi (Android OS) and TelegramI have enabled Developer Tool > Spoof GPS (Fake Geo-Location) and selected my VPNOnce done, i've checked if worked fine just opening Google Maps, and indeed, it was. It took a few min to re-calculate but in the end was working. I was connected to a VPN Node located in another country, getting remote IP and so on.I opened Telegram app (Android) having VPN enabled, selected "People Nearby", and for some unknown reason (neither could found a proper answer at Internet) Geo-Location was wrong, it was showing my real location (even after been spoofed, as explained before) , displaying People & Groups nearbyFor example: if i was located at Montevideo, Uruguay (real location) and my VPN Node was in London (spoofed location), then Telegram was showing me People and Groups nearby Montevideo and not London.I don't want to download or use another app to spoof GPS, actually with a VPN should be enough, however it doesn't. So my question is: are others having the same problem? If does, considering that Telegram is "Open Source", why wasn't fixed, or, in another words, how can be solved ?​People Nearby Drawbacks :Checking several groups from "People Nearby" ( without enabling myself "visible" to others ) saw a familiar name into a group that "joined and left" ; so i clicked on the user "name" ( without joining myself to the group ) leading to the real person profile, allowing to see its phone number, alias and (several) pictures profile. It was a neighbor !!!In summary : anonymously, i was able to know what does it like (according the group he/she joined), where is it located ( by "People Nearby" - distant miles/kilometers ) and its personal info ( due to its lack of policies, i guess ) such as: Real Name + Alias + Pictures + Phone (lets omit this one for a moment)So collecting this info anyone could have a really close profile of a person without his/her knowledge: sexual, religion, or other things it likes (by the joined Group), where and when is nearby, its face, name, phone number, alias. In other words : Social engineeringI have found some post from 2021 about this feature and rising concerns about Privacy such as below posts:Telegram Triangulation Pinpoints Users’ Exact LocationsFinding the Location of Telegram UsersSpoofing the identity of another user in TelegramMaybe would be useful, as a community, to think in a workaround.Recently Telegram launched the option to chose a "Public Picture" which solves the problem about "facial recognition", but it doesn't the fact that people use real names. Maybe an option could be to those those who are not Contacts, to display, only the Alias; also by default, some Privacy features should be more strict if we consider that is an app for it.( Sharing is caring = Open Source )

65GB of Telegram Cache - Ok to Delete?
Hi everyone,So long story short, I was trying to figure out why my Mac was progressively running out of free space, even though I continually offloaded a lot of my files to my external HD. I guess I found the culprit: it seems there's a Telegram folder of some sort that's 65GB in size (it says 394GB on the upper right of the screenshot, but I'm not sure that's right since I only have a 500GB SSD on my Mac).I was reading online (https://macpaw.com/amp/how-to/clear-telegram-cache) and it appears this is a Telegram cache folder of some sort. Since I want to reclaim this disk space, I'm thinking of clearing/deleting this cache. I just wanted to see if this was safe to do without affecting app functionality other than slowing down retrieval of past messages; I don't need all the files/chats saved locally at this time, but I want to be able to access old messages/photos/videos on Telegram (and save them as needed) if I needed to, in the future.*(*while Telegram continues to exist and while I have access to my Telegram accounts)Sorry if this is a silly question, but I get anxious when it comes to deleting things I don't know much about haha. Thank you!P.S. What's the best way to clear up this folder? Using Unigram, thinking about reverting to Telegram Desktop
I use Unigram, I really like it but there is either one glaring missing feature or I'm glaringly stupid for not being able to find it. I was wondering if Telegram desktop has this? if so, I might revert. Please let me know.The feature is the ability to mute everyone (not just specific people) for a certain period of time (I don't care if they give you a list, it doesn't need to be super accurate.. 1 hour.. 8 hours.. is fine)

issue with telegram and fragment phone number
i bough fragment telegram number. but it's a +888 and it says invalid country code on telegram when i try to log from my phone (it's working when i'm using telegram web version) where can i find some support ?

Recently i got my 5year old(2018) old account stolen via virus and i can't log back in
so a few days ago (december 31) someone managed to get into my account via a virus on my pc, thing i noticed only a couple hours after on january 1 at like 2am(cest), the person who got in managed to change the password and remove the email causing the account to not be accessible anymore, tried contacting support because the account is mine and i'm sure it can be confirmed via the IPs of log ins and the phone number, though it doesn't seem like they're responding, i contacted support on january 1st(both english and italian) and they never responded, is there a way to get back the account via phone number?

How do I get android notifications to show the most recent message and not the oldest one?
Any time I get a message notification it's the oldest message I've gotten. Is there any way to change this so it shows the message that's actually creating the notification?

hi, i'm going to meet my girlfriend at the weekend and i'm sure she cheated on me on telegram. i know she denies it and deletes her telegram message too. Screen recording had no sound?
I did a video call with my boyfriend because I was away for Christmas and wanted to watch him open my presents. I have an iPhone and I did a screen recording so I could enjoy his reaction later... however when I did watch it... there was no sound!! All of my other screen recordings are fine, but this one... nothing. :-( I don't know what's wrong, does anybody know? Thanks.

Does updating your android version add a new Active Session / Device?
I looked at my active session, and it shows that there are two, both are my Samsung model. I only have one Samsung phone that I use for that account. However, my current version is Android 9.x.x. while the other active session shows Android 8.x.x.My question is, it it normal for telegram to view them as two separate devices? Or can there be a potential hack with someone with the same phone model as me?I should note that it's been months since I logged in as that telegram account, so it would be before my phone is updated.Edit: I may have also resetted my phone as well before this login. But my question still stands, as i'd assume the Active Session would read my device as being the same device?

Do you know any bot that checks if a Wikipedia article is also available in English?
English Wikipedia has in general better quality article than other languages Wikipedia. So I'm questioning if there is a bot that recognises non-english Wikipedia articles links, checks if an English article is available and if there is it replies posting the English article's link.
