Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami, Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami, is a cherished annual Hindu festival honoring the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. In some Hindu scriptures, Krishna is revered as the supreme God and the origin of all avatars.

Embraced fervently, especially in the Vaishnavism tradition, Janmashtami festivities encompass vibrant celebrations, reading sacred texts, enchanting dance performances portraying Krishna's life per the Bhagavata Purana, soul-stirring devotional songs till midnight (Krishna's birth hour), and fasting.
