▪️According to the latest available information, at least 119 Cubans volunteered to join the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces, writes Reuters. Thus, one of the men, named Gonzalez from La Federal, who previously worked as a bricklayer, after concluding a contract, had already completed a training course and even received a Russian passport. He also added that he transferred $2,040 to his wife. This is more than 100 times the average monthly salary in Cuba.
According to Gonzalez, everyone here knew why they came and they were all ready to walk this path shoulder to shoulder with Russian soldiers.
The fighters compare themselves to Cuban fighters in Angola, adding that they are motivated by the fact that Moscow has been a loyal ally of Cuba for decades and the Soviet Union has provided economic assistance to the island.
