Rich Cultural Tapestry
(พระนครศรีอยุธยา)
🛺 In the afternoon, we hopped on a tuk-tuk and let the city unfold around us. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, Ayutthaya revealed its quiet beauty through timeworn bricks and living traces of history.
🍜 No visit feels truly complete without a bowl of Ayutthaya’s famous boat noodles—rich, flavorful, and comfortingly affordable.
🛕 Our journey continued to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, where three majestic stupas rose beneath the soft late-day light. Nearby, at Wat Lokayasutharam, the great reclining Buddha rested in serene stillness, timeless and humbling.
🎣 As the light mellowed, we paused at Sayama Ayutthaya, a riverside café in a traditional Thai house, before heading to Pom Phet, where golden reflections shimmered across the Chao Phraya River at sunset.
We ended the day with soft, sweet roti sai mai—a gentle and fitting finale to a day perfectly spent in Ayutthaya.

2025 recap | leave no stone unturned
🏡 It began with meaningful time with family and relatives: making merit, temple hopping, and our trips to Hua Hin and Phetchaburi.
🎻 The year was shaped by strong friendships. International friends came to visit, while Namwa and Music became steady constants in my life.
💯 Living true to myself taught me to listen more deeply, learn from others, and face challenges with greater calm, patience, and mindfulness.
📠 My focus shifted toward work and financial discipline—settling into life at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while learning to release certain dreams with acceptance.
🛫 Travel abroad continues to fuel my curiosity and passion, yet visiting Laos brought just as much joy as a trip to Kuala Lumpur.

A year of slowing down life abroad—gaining clarity and choosing to move forward with intention.

happiness often walks alongside disappointment
, and strength lies in choosing to move forward anyway.

Fruits of Courtesans
(วัดคณิกาผล)
🏮 During the reign of King Rama III, Trok Tao in Yaowarat was known as a “green-lantern quarter,” Bangkok’s historic red-light district.
🎭 One of its most famous brothels was run by Grandma Faeng, a wealthy madam patronized by the elite.
🪙 Inspired by royal devotion to Buddhism—she and the women pooled their earnings to build a temple of their own.
🕰 First known as Wat Mai Yai Faeng, it was later renamed Wat Kanikaphon by King Rama IV, literally meaning “a temple built from the gains of courtesans.”
🌺 Today, visitors come seeking love, patronage, fortune, and success in their work—echoes of hopes once whispered by those who built it, coin by coin.

Another side of Bangkok reveals how faith endures in every corner of society—even a temple founded by courtesans was never seen as a threat to this Buddhist city.
