Once your ego-personality has exhausted itself [over lifetimes] and realizes the futility of finding any fulfillment, joy, abundance, or even growth via improving the small self, which most self-help programs and coaches focus on, then you are ready to truly individuate and embark on the Great Work.

“The question is about the phrase in which I spoke of the birth of Sri Aurobindo—it was on the eve of his birthday— and I called it an “eternal birth”. I am asked what I meant by “eternal”.
Of course, if the words are taken literally, an “eternal birth” doesn’t signify much. But I am going to explain to you how there can be—and in fact is—a physical explanation or understanding, a mental understanding, a psychic understanding and a spiritual understanding.
Physically, it means that the consequences of this birth will last as long as the Earth. The consequences of Sri Aurobindo’s birth will be felt throughout the entire existence of the Earth. And so I called it “eternal”, a little poetically.
Mentally, it is a birth the memory of which will last eternally. Through the ages Sri Aurobindo’s birth will be remembered, with all the consequences it has had.
Psychically, it is a birth which will recur eternally, from age to age, in the history of the universe. This birth is a manifestation which takes place periodically, from age to age, in the history of the Earth. That is, the birth itself is renewed, repeated, reproduced, bringing every time perhaps something more—something more complete and more perfect—but it is the same movement of descent, of manifestation, of birth in an earthly body.

There is no true "sovereignty" as long as we are chained to the lower self with all its desires and attachments, likes and dislikes, and all the unconscious mechanical behaviors and actions due to social/cultural conditioning, unconscious trauma, and shadow projections. There is no freedom or free will in that, identified with the personality - only the illusion of it. Freedom starts from within, deep within.
All the striving toward external sovereignty proposed by self-proclaimed anarchists/voluntarists or freedom-fighting activists is futile in the long run if their inner nature is not transformed.
Any external seeking of freedom and sovereignty is bound to fail in the long run, for the outer always reflects the inner, and any attempt to externalize the process will only come back around and lead to yet another tyranny and imprisonment. It's what Gurdjieff also called the "trap of the revolutionary mind."
Does this imply just retreating from life, refraining from action, and just "meditating" on a mountain top until one is transformed? No, that's the old distorted way of "spirituality" trying to escape life [which we also see in the New Age]. Inner work and outer action need to go hand in hand, and there are different stages to go through, but no steps can be skipped. There are also vastly different levels of soul embodiment and being within billions of humans.
But outer action has only real impact if it is coming for the real "I" - conscious action from Essence, not reactive mechanical action from the wounded ego.
We still have a long way to go on this pilgrimage of ascension during this Time of Transition....

Who is Sam Harris? He's a self-proclaimed atheist trying to disprove the existence of God, an author, an intellectual and "respected" philosopher who has made his rounds with Jordan Peterson, Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, etc..
He also suffers from an extreme psychotic form of TDS: Trump Derangement Syndrome. He has literately gone mad, and his own sharp intellect and "reasoning" has become a trap in which he keeps rationalizing and justifying why Trump is so evil and why even "stolen elections" were justified to get Trump out (which he mentioned in the same interview as well]. We also see this mental illness and psychosis [a "virus" in itself] of many people on the left who have a complete deranged perception of Trump infused by their unconscious shadow projections to the point of hate, and Harris literally hates Trump. Hate is the most destructive and anti-life and anti-human frequency and a most nutritional dish for occult hostile forces.
Now, this is not about Trump. It also doesn't matter what you think of Trump. This is about an extreme form of shadow projection, and Harris has been taken over by his own shadow, which he is projecting on Trump. The way he feels about himself unconsciously is projected on Trump. There is deep-rooted internalized shame and self-hatred, which Harris masks up with his overriding intellect.
But let's go deeper. From an esoteric occult perspective, Harris is a perfect example of an "Organic Portal" or "Pre-Adamic man", a person without a soul and only at the very beginning of the incarnation cycles with no connection to the higher centers. He only exists in the lower three centers cemented in materialism.
In other words, he can't perceive anything "spiritual" based on his level of being. Hence he actually speaks "truth" from his level of being because all he can perceive is the material world, and he has no "receptors" for any in-depth spiritual insight.
Harris is also known to be a meditator. In fact, he created a meditation app a few years ago. However, for the same reason mentioned above [the lacking "inner" writing of the Organic Portal], no amount of meditation will be enough for him to have a spiritual experience. He can only mimic it. Maybe a calmer mind but no realization.
