Do what you like sexually and follow your "urges" if it is consensual [but leave the children alone!]...but then again, people never question where their [sexual] desires, orientation, and urges come from, to begin with, do they? The basis for spiritual bypassing. A truth but oversimplified version of it.

People cope by projecting their stuff onto others, but we take it personally because there’s often a “hook” within us - of our own “stuff”, where the projection is hung.

For example, someone projects anger onto us because a part of us could actually be angry - that’s the corresponding hook. Doesn’t mean anger is who we are or the entirety of our experience, yet the projected contents will tend to focus on that part of us.

It’s also the case that people can project total nonsense onto us. So, say someone is telling us “you hate me”, but we are being loving to them. If the projection continues even in the absence of evidence to the contrary, then we know for sure this is the person’s own psychic content that they are painting onto us. Emotionally filled projections are basically a form of temporary psychosis that has taken over the persons conscious mind. The only thing we can do is be the witness of that & not take it personally.
