My wife Laura took Gabor Maté's year-long online program "Compassionate Inquiry" (CI) two years ago before the Woke infection started but it's becoming more apparent. A good friend of mine who enrolled in this year's CI program was disturbed to see that the facilitator of his group asked everyone on the zoom call to put their "preferred pronouns" [them/their/it, whatever] next to their name on the zoom calls. When he refused to do it, the facilitator made a passive-aggressive comment saying that "some people seem to have a problem with that".
The irony in that is that the whole pronoun agenda and identity politics is literally based on Trauma - individuals who are traumatized and wounded. In other words, the need to change one's pronoun to other than the biological sexes of male/female IS a trauma response that has turned into pathology becoming normalized with all the "woke" virtue signaling that goes along with it.
I might add entity attachment/possession/influence [wetiko] to it as well but trauma is the entry point for those occult critters anyway but that's way too far out there and too politically "incorrect" to say....hence it needs to be said. There is way more to reality than what the five senses can perceive, especially the occult forces from non-physical realms that manipulate humanity.
Seems like Dr. Gabor Maté was pressured to go along with this SJW/Woke agenda otherwise his reputation would be on the line. He kneeled down to the Woke mob pressure supporting pathological anti-divine ideologies. Or if really believes in all pathological Woke nonsense, then he's less embodied/aware [with some serious lack of critical thinking skills] than I thought or projected onto him.
Laura and I and many others have learned a lot from Dr. Gabor Maté's work on Trauma and Compassionate Inquiry is a great modality [while certainly not perfect] but this Woke Cult infusion into his work and Somatic Trauma work, in general, is very disturbing to notice.

At this point, anyone in the health/healing/spiritual/wellness community who does not use their “popularity” and social reach to speak out against any aspects of the pathological woke ideology [including the racist Critical Race Theory] is complicit even by being silent about it. It's a litmus test for their conscience, level of embodiment, and if they value truth, integrity, and dignity over self-interest [career, money, fame] and mob pressure [public image, being concerned what others think of them] based on post-modern cultural Marxist brainwashing. I have written back to SANDS about the Gabor Mate talk above quoting the racist work of “somatic abolition” and they basically replied in fluffy spiritual gaslighting language that I am probably just triggered and I should watch the talk which will explain more about WHY I’m triggered. lol.
But I already did check out more of the “somatic abolitionists” work and he basically says if you get upset by his work and what he says it’s your “white supremacy” that’s getting triggered. So I already know what he will say. Lol.
For the record, I’m more just kind of disappointed that Gabor Mate would promote racism and/or bows woke mob, but it really didn’t hurt or bother me that much on an emotional level. I can respect people and what they teach while not projecting on him an infallible guru image.
Also, as someone who practices somatic therapy myself I’m used to combing through these modalities to find the golden nuggets and discard any parts which are not useful to me, critical race theory is part of that. Most of these somatic modalities are infected with dogmatic social justice theories but that doesn’t mean they dont hold value as well in their basic functions.
