The suspect, a man in his 30s from Somalia, was charged in connection with the incident and appeared before the Gorey District Court on the same day.

Once a popular holiday destination, the small seaside village of Courtown in County Wexford now finds both of its hotels repurposed to accommodate asylum seekers.
