When people look in the mirror, they usually find themselves staring at their own reflection, at the person theyβve been crafted into by their experiences, pain, joy, feelings, their own taped or healed scars. They see the reflection of the person theyβve become. But me? When I look into the mirror, all I see are pieces of other people being moulded together to try to shape this person who carries my name. I donβt see βmeβ because perhaps a real βmeβ doesnβt exist, or ceased to exist a long time back all I am now is a reflection of everything they wanted me to be. When I think about it, I think I am kind of a chameleon, for I change myself, my behaviour, to adapt to the other one. I force-fit my emotions and my feelings into the mould shaped according to their perspective, and itβs exhausting. For no matter how much you keep on re-moulding the clay, it will eventually harden, whether you finish shaping it into a beautiful handicraft or whether it remains distorted pieces of the failed attempt

Ofcourse hereβs a smoother, more natural version that keeps the same emotional, honest feeling
I am a teenager, awake all night, struggling to sleep, and starting my day with caffeine. I feel like something is wrong, but I don't even know what it is. I lie there staring at the ceiling, overthinking everything, while my mind is filled with dreams I want to chase and things I need to do. Yet somehow, instead of working toward them, I find myself procrastinating every second. Then I get nagged for every little thing I do, and sometimes I just wish someone in my life would look at me and say, βIt's okay. I understand you.β I keep getting lost in the fake world of social media, wasting hours scrolling, only to feel even more burdened afterward. There are so many thoughts inside my head that I wish I could share, but I'm scared that people will judge me or misunderstand me. I'm just a teenager trying to figure myself out, trying to keep up with everything, and sometimes I feel so tired of it all that I wish I could disappear for a while and escape from everything around me

I'd run to the person who treats me right, but I'll stare at the person who I wish treated me right

Maybe right now, you're alone because whatever you need to learn about yourself can only be learned in solitude. Maybe right now, the pieces of yourself you're finding are-fusing a truer self into form, a kind of self that will become a more clear and recognizable match for the places and people and opportunities that are meant to come your way
