إذا انتهت الصفة بحرف صحيح واحد مسبوق بحرف علة واحد نكرر الأخير ونضيف  er  


big – bigger

إذا انتهت الصفة ذات المقطع الواحد بحرف y نحولها إلى i ونظيف er 

friendly – friendlier

إذا كانت الصفة أكثر من حرف عله واحد نسبقها بكلمة more ولا نضيف لها er 


delicious – more delicious

expensive - more expensive

EX ] Iraq is ( big , bigger , biggest ) than Lebanon .
