Vanity is an octic unicase typeface that captures the printed effect of letterforms on New Jersey license plates from the 1930s to the 1990s. The two-width family draws inspiration from the visual remnants of how embossed and painted plates were produced.
Engineer-constructed letterforms and rounded corners form the foundation of the typeface. By embracing material ‘flaws’ in individual characters — such as paint bleeding over the edges of specific letters — the family finds rhythm in its irregularity.

LL Kleisch is a serif typeface designed specifically to complement old-style CJK typefaces, also known as Ming. It addresses the challenge of incompatibility in stylistic features and parameters when typesetting between serif Latin and CJK scripts in Ming typefaces. On the Latin side of the equation, such features became particularly pronounced in Baroque and Neoclassicism, which is why Kleisch was based on typefaces from Van Djik, Kis and Fleischman.

A vernacular alphabet inspired by a chance encounter with a local resident painting their very own ‘No Parking’ sign on a sidewalk in New York City. The unorthodox hand-painted letters, especially the original interpretation of the letter ‘G’, posed a challenge to create a new font from a single line of letters painted by a member of the public. Typeface design award: Tokyo Type Directors Club 2025 TDC Prize.

A2-Type Custom Font

Design of a unique alphabet in 2 styles, Regular and Bold, for the world famous Danish architect and furniture designer Arne Jacobsen. The typeface is based on the Aarhus town hall alphabet designed for signage by AJ himself and Erik Møller ca. 1941.
