Praying for my friends out there, going through what appears to be a tremendous winter storm.
We are expecting ice/snow mixture in our area (Memphis/Shelby County). Even though tons of tree limbs and branches were cut over the summer, we live in an older, rural'ish area and have prepared as best we can for a power outage.
Please check-in, report, or share photos of what's happening in your neck of the woods. I'll do the best I can to report, too.
Remember to stand expectantly on Psalm 91.
Love y'all!

Today is my best friend's birthday.
I won't tell you how long I've known her, but I can say she was there when I was skinnier and when I got in trouble with our biology teacher for goofing off. (Some things never change.)
She is one of the smartest individuals I've ever known. And not just because I'm her best friend. She can figure out anything that I throw at her. She's steady, reliable, and offers me unconditional love.
The kind of love that has her grandpa bring her back to school (after the school day is done and you're waiting for your mom to pick you up) so she can comfort you crying over a boy's puerile behavior.
The kind of love that picks up the phone when you call her at work to ask how to spell something and the kind of love that doesn't point out your atrocious grammar (unless asked to edit).
The kind of love that drives two hours to your house to bring you a map that couldn't be found locally, but you really wanted to give it to your husband for your 1st wedding anniversary.
The kind of love that laughs with you and at you.
The kind of love that comforts and calms.
The kind of love that is unbelievably precious to you.
Happy birthday to someone I love more than chocolate.

A king sent singers to the front lines.
No weapons.
No armor.
Just voices.
And their enemies destroyed each other.
This actually happened.
And it reveals something most Christians never use.
2 Chronicles 20:1-30
King Jehoshaphat faced three armies.
Outnumbered.
Outgunned.
Surrounded.
He had two options: panic or pray.
He chose something else entirely.
Jehoshaphat didn't call for more weapons.
He didn't gather more soldiers.
He appointed SINGERS to march at the front of the army.
Not warriors.
Worshipers.
And here's what happened next.
2 Chronicles 20:22-23:
"As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against their enemies...
And they destroyed one another."
The worship didn't just encourage the army.
It activated God's intervention.
Here's what you need to understand.
Worship wasn't an emotional outlet for Jehoshaphat.
It was a WEAPON.
A strategic act of warfare.
He sent praise BEFORE he saw victory.
And that's what triggered the breakthrough.
This isn't the only time.
Paul and Silas worshiped in prison, chains fell off (Acts 16).
Joshua's army shouted at Jericho, walls collapsed (Joshua 6).
David played the harp, demons fled from Saul
(1 Samuel 16).
Worship doesn't just make you feel better.
It shifts the spiritual atmosphere.
You treat worship like a mood booster.
Something you do when you FEEL like it.
But Jehoshaphat didn't FEEL like worshiping.
He was terrified.
Surrounded by armies.
And he worshiped ANYWAY.
Because worship isn't about your emotions, it's about God's authority.
Next time fear tries to paralyze you…
Don't run.
Don't panic.
Don't spiral.
Put on a worship song.
Speak praise BEFORE you see proof.
Declare His faithfulness while you're still surrounded.
That's when the breakthrough comes.
Jehoshaphat sent worship to the front lines.
And God ambushed his enemies.
You're facing something right now that feels impossible.
Stop fighting in your own strength.
Send worship ahead of you.
Praise Him before the victory.
Because worship isn't just a song.
It's a weapon.
And it's time you used it.
