Q: What are your thoughts about voting?

A: I think it’s a private issue best decided between an individual and the Lord.

If you admire someone and they believe you need to vote, what will you do? If you admire someone else and they believe you should not vote, what will you do?

We’re going to run into a problem if we don’t have godly reasons for why we do or do not do something. Hopefully, our understandings and conclusions are based on what God is telling us to do. We must not be swayed from our walk with the Lord because of someone else’s opinion about voting.

If we are faithfully walking in obedience to what He is telling us to do then we do not owe anyone an explanation. We do not need to qualify, explain or excuse our decision. If we’re faithfully walking the path He set before us, we will be comfortable with the path we’re on and not worry about what He calls others to do.

Is it possible 2024 will not be what we expect? Are you prepared for various scenarios/possible outcomes? Will we have an election in the fall? Will it be postponed? Or, as Trump has been saying as of late, will there be “a pause?”

Pray, my friend. I will be praying for my friends, too. That they clearly hear God’s instructions and that they have the strength and courage to follow through.

Q: This channel ________ is saying ________, but this channel ________ is saying ________. I like both of these channels so I am confused about who I should listen to…

A: What is the Holy Spirit telling you when you pray about it?

We know from Paul’s letters that conflicts among Believers has been around for thousands of years. He tells us not to bicker over issues that do not matter in the grand scheme of life, if you will. He doesn’t tell us we must agree on everything. But, he does tell us we need to work it out so we can live peacefully together. Most importantly, he stresses that we should not be a stumbling block in someone’s spiritual journey.

If a person or a channel insists that we agree with every one of their personal beliefs and opinions, that should raise red flags for us. If a person or channel consistently mocks, stirs strife or wants to be the magistrate of our life, we should question their intent. Someone else’s belief that they are right does not automatically mean that we are wrong.

Your question was asked about the same time as the question regarding voting, and I think part of the answer above applies here quite well.

Our understandings and conclusions should be based on what God is telling us to do. Otherwise, if we can be swayed by others’ opinions we will get pushed off the path of following His perfect will for our lives.

We can prayerfully consider other points of views and understand different perspectives while asking the Lord to show us His truth, and we can do so without discord. I do not believe that we must agree with others’ opinions on every single thing in life. That just doesn’t make any sense! We have different temperaments, personalities, tastes, desires, goals.

We are to speak God’s truth in His kind of love. So ask the Holy Spirit: is this person/channel lovingly speaking God’s truth; or are they presenting their own opinions as God’s truth?

God will not cause confusion, fear and guilt among His children. He is clear, precise and reliable. The Holy Spirit guides, correcting as needed.

We can live confidently and comfortably with our decisions when we seek His will for us.

It's been snowing here since about 1:30 this afternoon.

There's something so lovely and perfect and delightful and wondrous about the first snowfall.

It was a good time to make cookies.

The potted roses are moved under shelter, the washing is done, the pantry is full, the water is freshly stored.

God is making stillness for His creation.

We will savor the change in pace, the quietness outside, the cheer of the kids inside.

He makes life still very, very good.

If you've been with me for awhile, do you remember the sweet gift I found in the sky one cold day two years ago?

With Jesus we can face the unknown.

As I look through all the graphics I have, I often ask the Lord to show me what He wants me to post, because I know that someone, somewhere needs His message.

Sometimes, it’s a message that I need, even if I don’t recognize the significance at first.

That’s the case with the above graphic. The Holy Spirit said, that’s the one. So I posted. As I settled down to rest, the Holy Spirit brought to mind that it needed to be edited. I got up, grabbed my device then added a comment to the bottom: “With Jesus we can face the unknown.”

A few weeks ago I was clearing out some older posts I saved. There was a video narrated by a gentleman and he talked about, “The 7 questions you need to ask your mom.”

I jotted the questions down and thought that these questions would be great to present to my mom around Mother’s Day.

Last week the Holy Spirit urged me to get these questions to my Mom. I thought I would send her a lovely card with the questions tucked inside. However, His Spirit said to email her. I did and two days later she sent me back her answers.

Here are the questions:

This morning my brother called to tell me my Mom had a stroke last night.

Later, I thought about these questions. About being obedient to the Holy Spirit’s urging, and how humbled and grateful I feel for sending these to her.

He is in every aspect of our lives –in ways we could never imagine.

He is in the tiny and ordinary. He is there in the velvet, darkened skies as we rest. He is there in the new morning. He is there as the day unfolds before us.

He is there when we are lonely, confused, hurt. He is there when we are angry and hungry for answers.

He is there when we have to face the unknown.

I would tell my friends to stop putting off, stop ignoring, stop making excuses.

Where there is reconciliation, reconcile.

Forgive.

Call, write, reach out.

Don’t wait.

You will never, ever regret listening to God’s instructions.

Thank you for your prayers, sweet thoughts and kind words.

We are grateful that the stroke wasn't as bad as we worried about. She talks and is completely coherent. She's waiting on a bed for inpatient therapy and we anticipate her stay there to be short.

My mom and I are quite close. She's amazing, strong, witty and thoughtful. My love for her runs deep.

The posts above were meant to convey the message that we all know: Life Can Change In a Heartbeat.

Simply, don't wait.

Call, write, reconcile if reconciliation can be found, forgive.

Don't wait for the right time, the right moment, the other person to initiate...

Be courageous, be hopeful.

Move.

Life is worth the living.

I am pieces of all the places I've been, and all the people I've loved. I've been stitched together by song lyrics, book quotes, adventures, late night conversations, moonlight, and the smell of coffee.
