Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, The Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group - A True Inspiration
- Born to a business family in Kolkata in 1967, Birla grew up in Mumbai. He did his high school from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and a bachelor's degree from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, University of Mumbai.
- He is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA degree from the London Business School.
- In 1995, after the sudden demise of his father when Kumar was 28, he took over as the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group of Companies. Some suspicions were raised regarding his abilities to handle such a big organization but he proved his cynics wrong.
- His estimated net worth is about $17.5 billion.
- In 2021, Birla received the Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Business Transformation from Silicon Valley based The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE).
- His family had a bank which got nationalized years ago - UCO Bank. It was started by his great-grandfather Mr G.D. Birla.
