Economic Prosperity – Neutrality and Peace
By Peter Koenig
“Peace is the most powerful weapon for mankind.”—Mahatma Gandhi

Peace is an economic driver for every country, for the world and even more so in a globalized world, where countries and regions are connected. Conflicts and wars interrupt not only supply chains, harming also economies that have nothing directly to do with the conflict, but they destroy countries physically and economically.

Opinion | The Greater Middle East: America and Britain’s Hidden Hand in Reshaping Arab Identity
The history of the Middle East has not merely been written in ink, but carved through oil, blood, and fragmented memory. Since the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916, when colonial architects divided Arab lands in the aftermath of World War I, the region has been managed not as a cradle of civilisation with the right to self-determination, but as a geopolitical zone that must remain under control. That colonial pact was not the end of the story — it was its beginning. From drawing borders with a pen,... Read more »

Iran: a strategic mistake in the making?
With thanks to Quantum Bird
Iran’s history is rich and complex. From the days of the glorious Persian Empire to today’s Islamic Republic, Iran has experienced all kinds of geopolitical circumstances, including being, for a period, a colony of the Western powers. Like any former colony that has liberated itself through a popular revolution, Iran has its resentful comprador elite – some of them ex-patriates in the hegemon’s metropolis and others infiltrated into the ranks of its... Brazil, Chile reject trade wars, reaffirm support for multilateralism
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Chilean President Gabriel Boric on Tuesday reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism and regional integration, and their rejection of global trade wars.
At a joint press conference, the two leaders criticised the U.S. protectionist policies and called for strengthened ties among South American nations. Lula emphasised the need to reinforce regional institutions and questioned why Latin America had not achieved technological development comparable to more advanced nations, pointing to U.S. policies as a contributing factor.
The two leaders announced new bilateral agreements in defense, public #security, #agriculture, #culture and entrepreneurship. Boric also accepted Lula's invitation to attend the upcoming #BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro scheduled for July 6-7.
